It's got NICKEL in it!
Dino gas power!
Dino gas power!
I had one of those.
Quite a few for sale on E bay. Not $3.98 though. They were cool. Looked like a gas pump. Sinclair Dino Supreme Six Transistor Radio W/Box Inst Cover Works Faintly Clean | eBay
…They had one like a battery too.
Yes !! that's exactly what I thought !!
Still have mine! In the box too...
We did that, but ''yankees''? never heard of em. Cardinals were the only REAL team in baseball...We would have those little transistor radios under our desk in school with the ear plug cord inside our shirt sleeve, and our hand holding up our head by the elbow on the desk. The ear plug inside our hand listening to the radio, which was the October World Series that was on during the afternoons back then. And it was the Yankees, or course, so all you others wouldn't know.![]()
Coincidentally, there is one of these in a local auction I am watching. Next bid would be $20.00.Quite a few for sale on E bay. Not $3.98 though. They were cool. Looked like a gas pump. Sinclair Dino Supreme Six Transistor Radio W/Box Inst Cover Works Faintly Clean | eBay

I grew up in SW Atlanta in the 60s/70s, so typically we watched (yes, watched) the World Series every year featuringWe did that, but ''yankees''? never heard of em. Cardinals were the only REAL team in baseball...
Truth is, several years in elementary school, we did the same thing ; set up a big - I mean it musta been 24" - TV in the gym and watched the World Series. I had almost forgotten. Seemed we 'let school out' and did the same for space launches. Sneaking the radio may have been more for listening to KAKC...;)I grew up in SW Atlanta in the 60s/70s, so typically we watched (yes, watched) the World Series every year featuring
the Big Red Machine, the Orioles, Bob Gibson and the Cardinals - and yes, one magical year, the Braves too.
Our teachers in school would set up a TV on the RV cart in class for us to watch the day games in the Series, too - didn't
have to hide any radios and such.
They knew how damn serious baseball was to all of us (we ALL played in organized baseball) and let us watch it "live".
