Wanted to get away from ecu and ballast resisters. Went with msd distributor and changed weights and springs to have advance kick in sooner. articles suggest changing mechanical voltage regulator to electronic wasn't sure about alternator.
haven't been on in a while changed my 65 coronet(440 6 pack) to msd ready to run distributor.. looking to change voltage reg to classic indutries electronic regulator . same design as oem. question can i leave current alternator. alone thanks
Thanks I'm looking at msd ready to run #8387 that uses a external coil like a blaster 2.Not sure if it will clear aluminum heads and valve covers. I think i can put a 10 gauge wire in Ballester so it stays at 12 volts and keep wiring harness looking stock and do away with ecu harness. I can buy...
Has anyone installed a Hei ready to run distributor in a 1965 coronet 440 6 pack. looking to eliminate ballast resistor. and ecu harness. not sure how to wire up to (NEW)engine wiring harness at ballast resistor and eliminate resistor and ecu harness
update on gauge bouncing. found some wires in wiring harness where insulation had broken, put in new wiring harness, new starter relay, voltage regulator, ballast resistor .Wont start with key can jump with screw driver between starter and solenoid starts right up . ANY INPUT IS APPRECIATED...
did alternator gauge bounce around at idle and while driving ? Your saying your alternator tested good . Replacing alternator would be easy fix. I hate electrical problems. Thanks I appreciate feedback

Haven't been on site all summer .Finally made decision on rear leaf springs. Discussed with Bob Mosher. Mopar guy on west coast. He told me about 2 companies. First one he said the springs were more for drag racing. The other company called ESPO Springs and n Things. I contacted ESPO and had a...
Thanks for tire specs. I'm running 245/60/15 on back of car .I believe your tires are about a 1 in wider and 1 1/2 taller. Do know the back spacing on rear rims ? Are you running a Dana or stock rear end? One last question which hole on spring hanger did you use top or bottom. Sorry for all the...
Your car sets about same as mine with air shocks. Did you get both a left and right ? Also does the car set level ? I guess a Plymouth and Dodge in the same year can set different with 3800 lb springs. I'm assuming that is because of different total weight ? Thanks
