S/S SPRINGS

I have the 3800lb springs on my car. I had to install spring hanger as S/S springs are an inch shorter I believe.

Your car sets about same as mine with air shocks. Did you get both a left and right ? Also does the car set level ? I guess a Plymouth and Dodge in the same year can set different with 3800 lb springs. I'm assuming that is because of different total weight ? Thanks

I put two left springs on. I had a right/left set on it at first but car didn't sit level at all. I'm not racing it, so I wanted it to sit level.

Got them at Summit as I needed them quickly. I have also bought a set prior to these from Chicago Connection.
Thanks. It makes it nice to get info from someone that has the same car. Takes the guess work out of it. Nice looking car. Thanks again

Sonny, we need pics after install. I need a new set, but just can’t remember the stance from yrs ago with a “paired” set. Jeff

Thanks for tire specs. I'm running 245/60/15 on back of car .I believe your tires are about a 1 in wider and 1 1/2 taller. Do know the back spacing on rear rims ? Are you running a Dana or stock rear end? One last question which hole on spring hanger did you use top or bottom. Sorry for all the questions but I only want to do this once. Thanks Again

Back spacing is 4.5, running a Dana rear end, and I used the bottom hole on spring hanger. Picture attached.

Can't thank you enough. You have taken the guess work out of this project.

No problem at all. I started with the 3400lb springs and I didn't like them...live and learn and pass on what you can! Good luck!

Still waiting for the ‘after’ pics. I just don’t remember that much diff in mine with a set of 3600# rear springs. Mine are 30+ yrs old.

If you buy the SS 002/003's you will need the new front hangers for the B bodies. A bodies we do not. I just purchased a set from Jegs and they were $126 and change each. I bought two of the 002's ( Right side ) springs as I don't plan on going to the strip it's more for looks. I had to order new rear hangers for my 68 Dart GTS as when I got them apart they were obviously 50 years old and needed to be replaced and I also bought new shackles and bushings so now everything is new.

I see the original poster said he has a 4 speed. According to summit they're made for automatics. Any reason why they're advertised that way?

Looking at replacing the original springs on my 74 RR

No reason that I can remember, they were all trans “back when”.

Ok I have my dumb hat on. If you use two rights not good for track but ok for street. So to have good ss springs for the street you need a 3800 on one and 3200 on the other (example only) just trying to figure it all out. My car suppose to have as springs on it but it sets level and I'm not finding any type of id on them.

The ones I purchased for my 68 GTS from Mancini racing are the #3000/#3200 right side springs. MOPP3412002 $128.95 each. I bought 2 right hand springs as I wanted to have the car sit level. More than likely it will never see the strip but I do like to play around on the street. They did raise the rear end a good 2 inches
