S/S SPRINGS

3800 lb. SS springs, 65 Belvedere. Pretty sure these were made in Mexico. Sits level. Car has the spare tire and jack in the trunk, battery in the stock location.

Good looking ride. I think you maybe about 1 to 1 1/2 inches higher than my car in rear. I am also looking for height and not for racing. What's your thought on 3600 lb springs and both being right side springs so car sets level.

Kinda agree, you’d probably have to go to 3400# to keep the *** end from pointing to the moon.(?)
you may be right. I've got street hemis now and the car always heads to the left in first gear. can't steer out of it either.

Mine measures about 25 inches from the bottom of the lip to the ground with the 3800 lb springs. Left-P3690455 Right-P3690454 Sits level. I would assume that the ride height would be slightly lower with a spring rated less at 3600 lb. Mine always goes straight when you hammer it, don’t know what it would do with 2 right side springs, just something I was considering for my 64. I like the way my 65 sits, probably a lot of people don’t.

Didn’t they used to recommend clamping the front section of the spring on one side or the other to make them go straight?

done the clamps; didn't make any difference. thing is violent, no fun to hammer.

A LOT OF A BODY GUYS IN THE PAST, HAVE BEEN RECOMENDED TO USE TWO "LEFT" SPRINGS IN THE WEIGHT OF UR CHOICE. Last post I read on the subject was by a mopar retailer.

From lewtot’s description that won’t work, he needs the “set”(at the least).
 
To the best of my knowledge the object of the HD right spring is to keep right axle on the ground. Torque of side stepping the clutch wants to lift the right tire so you need a heavier spring on the right.

Yup, pushes down harder with body movement. Wondering if lewtot has thought about preloading a little by raising left front with torsion bar for better weight transfer?

Yes and yes. I bought them from a local vendor about 12 years ago. You can get them through Summit or Mancini or any other Mopar Performance vendors.

I have the 456/457 set on both my 62 Belvedere and on my 69 GTX. The 62 is raised up more in the rear. The GTX sits pretty level. With the GTX, I adjusted the left front torsion bar to drop the driver side more to keep it straight in a burnout. I always thought the heigh difference from side to side was by design to preload the left rear wheel to get even bite in the back.

done and still do the left front preload. putting a fat guy in the passenger side does help; seriously!
 
AR Engineering has front spring hangers with two bolt holes that might help with ride height adjustment. a couple of months ago I rode in a '69 dart 440 6bbl 5spd with 02/03 springs . I imagine the car was probably 3600lbs with 2 people in it. car sit level and I was surprised at ride quality. the 02/03's have a 160lb rate while the others are 125lb rating.
 
I have the 3800lb springs on my car. I had to install spring hanger as S/S springs are an inch shorter I believe.
