The wire for that empty spot would be connected to the orange. The wires are dry and stiff, but in person no evidence of burning/heat through.

I got mine from TAMRAZ parts. I also did 3/8 for future upgrade in my 74. It was also straight and not curved. I did not see the curved ones anywhere at the time.
