And I thought restoring my car was a nightmare. The engine swap was grate on your car and liked the detail you showed us. Think I will stick with my 383-motor due to a lot less work. Your swap is not for the faint of heart. Grate job and have fun with it.:drinks:
I am late on responding to this. Darn man that would really have set me back for a while and don't know if I could have gotten back into the grove on bringing the car back as soon as you have. You're doing grate work and see you did not give up the ship. Good luck and hope you're driving it soon.
Have been getting all kinds of phone calls on Medicaid and Medicare. More than 30 times a day. I am sick of it. Figured they are scammers also. If I wanted to include part B or C then I would do it but not over the phone with someone claiming to be an insurance company. Telemarketers STOP...
So, I missed something. You have an automatic trans. or manual four speed. If an automatic does it have the stall converter. The rear end may be too tall. When drag racing we liked the 3:55 gearing. Wish you luck and know you will figure it out in the end.
Very nice car. 383 is a good motor and decent on fuel milage. Doing body work is a pain and had to buy a lot of tools in restoring my runner. I would not want to do it for a living. LOL. But would not be a bad profession for sure. Welcome from the lower 50 states.
Grate rear end. Put forward with new 6 leaf and 2 1/2 inch recurve on my leaf spring. USA springs. Thought they might be too stiff, but they work grate. This keept me from trying to use Air shocks and shackles to get that late 69-70 rear Gant. Have fun with the project.
I am down to CDs for my music now and what will be next. Long gone is 8 track and Coset's. So where will I get to listen to my favorite music next. Went to many concerts when younger and saw the guitarist break a string and keep on playing. New wave music is not the same today. Well guess I will...
Had to through the pic of console in. Just to mention. Take plenty of pics before taking parts and metal off. The come in handy latter. If doing metal work like quarters and things do one at a time so you have the other side to measure off of. Test fitting is a big part of the job. Had a big...
Ok so my runner would have been a bench seat car no console. I wanted bucket seats and console so went with that. It was an original four speed car. 383 motor rebuilt it with a little more hp. 8 3/4 rear end and want to upgrade to 742 one which I have the chunk to do that. Now Bought the car for...
I get these paper gaskets for between intake and head. Have just installed the valley pan without using those. Do I need to use them. four of them figured one between the pan and head and the other between the intake and pan. Any thoughts appreciated. Blue.
Running 12 degree before top dead center at 800 Rpm's. Total timing I am not sure of. Same distributor since rebuilding the engine with vacuum advance. No point ignition.
All good suggestion. Have a USA radiator three core. The fan is as close to the rad. as I can get it. So, the head when putting it on seems to have been ok. Running a 50/50 mix of Preston antifreeze. I only have 5000 miles on this motor after rebuilding. The shroud is a factory one for the...
So here is the deal. Had a cracked head and got another one done at a shop. Put it back on the car. Have a new 26-inch radiator 3 core. 7 Blade fan. Shroud. Now the motor runs really hot. It did not ever get over 190 degrees while driving before but did get to 210 in stop and go traffic. At a...
