Out of curiosity, does anyone ever use FULL FLOATING WRIST PINS?? Slip fit in he piston pin boss and slip fit in the rod. The piston is machined to accept: EITHER a SPIROLOX RING OR a WALDES I.D. TRU-ARC RING. Double retainer rings both sides to prevent excessive Axial pin movement...
Induction heating is an excellent solution. It is used in industry all the time to heat bearing races, roller bearings, etc just about any application requiring a press or clearance fit. Rather than the "Army method" of brute force and blind ignorance, Suggest using a TEMPLE STICK, of the...
Please supply the specifics (model number, rating, sheave diameter, etc) on the Denso unit you installed. I'd like to learn a little more about it.....thanks....

The TXV controls the liquid refrigerant inlet (volume of refrigerant) to evaporator, based on the outlet TEMPERATURE of the evaporator, via a sensing capillary/bulb system, acting on the temperature of the exiting refrigerant. The capillary's system gas has the same characteristics as the...
Most of the 'Cuda's used in NASH BRIDGES were not Hemi cars but we're 383s or 440s made to resemble Hemi cars.. I thought that there were 12 '71 Hemi Cudas built.....7 auto trans and 5 4 speed cars....????

MOST...but not all older GM systems used the CCOT (Cycling Clutch Orifice Tube) refrigerant control (he orifice tube replaced the TXV) and cycled the compressor Clutch on PRESSURE exiting the evaporator to prevent freezing. Approximately 28 psi off / 38 psi on, or any average of 34 psi using...
Depends on if you're using the original V2 compressor using R12 refrigerant, then the EPR valveis needed. It controls the suction pressure to a constant value, independent on compressor RPM. If converting using a V2 compressor and R134A refrigerant, remove the EPR valve and then use new...
Depends on whether you're a metric or US measurement person.....grams/sec or pounds/hr and both rely on density at a specific temperature either in degrees C or degrees F.......or Rankin degrees......what's your pleasure????

IMO....rebuild it yourself. As it's 1969 vintage, it is likely that the brushes need replaced. If it's charging at all, the diodes are probably OK, along with the stator and rotor windings. Very likely the front bearing is going bad (noisy). This bearing is a 6203RSS single row sealed...
Do you really NEED/(or just want) a "high stall" converter? Whats the application? The heat load caused by the torque converter at highway speeds can be as high as 300°+F, depending upon the percentage of slip, the higher slip, the greater the cooler's surface area to dissipate needs to...
Sure, I have feeling's for "DynaBro" and his issues, but that is a classical case of doing zero research b4 hand, then blaming everyone (me) for the results because he doesn't understand the concept. He has called me just about every name in the book that he can muster.....that is so childish...
TRIPE!!! WHAT A HOOT......Just because YOU do not understand the terminology, I suggest that you LEARN THE TERMINOLOGY AND THEORY AND PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS OF HOW A CARBURETOR INDUCTION SYSTEM OPERATES, to understand and it's not based on some unspecified magazine article(s) and not on...
Except that the only common feature is the "adjustable" air valve opening adjustment...they do not share any others features other than they WERE made by Carter and the AVS II is not a spread bore, metering is similar but not interchangeable. The T-Quad was based roughly on the GM Q-jet, which...
Show us your dyno, runs using all three choices, or flow velocity calcs, rather than "I'm sure the 800CFM AVS will be fine"....based on what?? A seat of the pants guesstimate? What if it it isn't correct?...are you willing to buy the wrong carb for the OP?? We're talking Mopar...not...
Both carbs you noted are too big for your set up. Stay in the 650 cfm range....my preference is rebuild your original. Second choice replacement!, professionally rebuilt carb of same brand and type as original or do it yourself.....remember bigger is not better.....do not succumb to the some...
Depending on which Scotch.....a nice 12yo single malt, neat with water back, is wonderful although a smooth mellow charcoal filtered Black Jack Daniel's, the same way, is a nice change of pace.....either one, but it Is just the perfect way, along with your wife/partner/lady or ?? to finish out a...
Congratulations......your grand kids will always remember their Gtandfather when they view the area....both in their hearts and minds...and the time spent together.....I envy and salute you, sir......

I agree with you....One never hears about low efficiency or average efficiency...only HIGH EFFICIENCY......WHY IS THIS? Efficiency is expressed as a percentage of a 100%.....or heat transfer capability in terms of Btu/Hr at a given temperature or flow velocity....not low to high efficiency...
It is what is and the price depends on how bad do you want or need the item. In another lifetime, I did steel purchasing, both carbon and stainless steels. With stainless steels, both plate, sheet, welded and seamless pipe, the price were based on a the nickel content plus a commodity...
