727 is a pretty simple transmission. Swapping the internals as dvw says is not that hard. Do you have a factory shop manual?

Swapping the guts from one case to the other is a simple job. You would have to gut it to weld it anyway. Doug

I’m looking at a 68 Coronet 500 with a W in the vin for the build location. I can’t seem to find where it was built. Any ideas? It’s on all 3 VINs: dash, core, and trunk rail. WP23G8W……
