deep frying a turkey........ any tips?

I have deep fried a few turkeys and I prefer the Big Easy oil less turkey fryer. Much easier and you don't have to buy expensive oil and you still get the crisp skin. Gus

    expected idle?

There seems to be some confusion about the OP's intentions with this car. He stated the car is track only. Now I have only been racing for about 35 years but I have seen very few drag cars with vacuum advance hooked up. With the cam the OP has I would set my base at 22 and total at 38 with it...

    Dana 60 questions......

The Dana under my Savoy came out of a Camaro that had ladder bar mounts welded to it. So when cutting and grinding the brackets most of the build code was removed from the operation. That is one reason numbers are removed. Gus

The Elephant In The Room: unloading the load from a B-body.

I would like to compare the CM unit from Strange,MW,etc... to the forged unit like the one pictured. Probably not much difference but it could be made lighter due to the strength of CM. Both of my shafts use 1350 forged units. Gus

Members with 4 wheel disc systems.....Can you get the tires to skid?

My car scales with me in it is just a tick over 3600# My pedal pressure is a bit firm. I would like to try a 15/16 MC just to see if I like the feel of it. This winter I'm installing a hydraulic parking brake so I might change it then. Gus

C H E A P People that you know...what are your stories of that person you knew that went overboard with their habits?

I once knew a guy that would put a pan under his leaking T-flite so he could pour it back in when it was low. My stalls at work are next to the used tire racks and I inspect the old ones to use on my daily driver. I haven't bought new tires for my DD in about 10 years. Gus

Members with 4 wheel disc systems.....Can you get the tires to skid?

I have Wilwood brakes on front and rear of my Savoy and I have never tried to "lock them up" on purpose. My car always stops on a dime nice and smooth with no drama. I can always make the turn on the first return road at the track. It's all manual with no bias valves or adjustment in the system...

    Valve cover gaskets?

For stamped steel covers I prefer the stuff they call "Felcroprene" I think it was a mixture of cork and neoprene. I use Superformance pink with 2 machined surfaces. Gus https://www.manciniracing.com/felbrbenrubc.html

Ditch the air tank for an inflator???

Are any of you guys using a battery powered inflator VS an air tank at the track? If so what brand are you using? Gus

What have you broken while out hot rodding your car?

Broke a few clutch discs until I decided to spend money on a good one. Broke third gear in a couple 23 spline boxes and split a 3-4 slider in a HEMI box. Broke an adjuster screw on a rocker arm once and found all the pieces laying on the head near the rocker pedestal. Had a Holley blue pump fail...

Got A Few Things Handled at Dragway 42

    Checking / Adjusting Valve Lash

I use the EOIC method on my engines. There are quite a few videos out there showing how it's done. I adjust one cylinder at a time and get them all lashed in about 15 minutes. Gus

MSD 2 step with line lock and 4 speed

Not sure why you would need a relay in the system. You really don't need to complicate the 2-step wiring with the line lock circuit. All you need is a simple roller micro switch and a bracket fabbed to your clutch pedal stop. The problem with using your factory clutch safety switch is that when...
