I'm running behind on updates. The metalwork on the rear bumper is done other than some massaging and the car has been stripped down to a shell and mounted on the rotteseri.
Unfortunately the next order of business is getting the ceiling insulated in the resto Bay and getting this car moved...
Very productive weekend, the Satty is stripped and I've got an absolute mess to clean up! Test fitted the brakes, finished welding and grinding the bumper, pulled the drive train, suspension and just about everything else.
The daughter boyfriend stepped in to help this time, he owns a 1973...
Not everyone has a custom header shop nearby to have the headers fitted too, I don't. I'd be really surprised if they could build a set that cheap for a B Body, takes a lot more work to fit them in a B Body than a Jeep. Jeep looks very cool, nice.
I've been on a long hiatus and just recently started posting again so it was a bit of a surprise, I don't feel like I've contributed much lately but thank you to whoever you are?
Rest assured, in my absence I've continued to drive the Charger putting thousands of miles on it which I credit...
The part I was concerned about is showing promise, the corners. Took a few to get the 1/8" plates bent to match but I'm pretty happy, a little more hammering and it's ready to be fully welded, smooth out and set aside as another part done. This is being done with zero mods to the body just in...
The Charger is an incredible weird deal and yes I first went to Crutchfield and others. The factory stereo has wiring routed through it that ties into the heater, vehicle info screen, etc. The installation kit for it includes new heater controls plus a harness but mounts the screen down in front...
I'm starting to notice a trend, people are being absolute pricks for no reason!
A few weeks ago I was doing an aftermarket stereo install in my boys 2014 Charger and called a local audio shop to purchase a stereo plug/pigtail. He asks for the make, model and year then tells me I need this...
That would be great if they are 2" drop, I really like the stance and ride I have now (minus the mentioned issues). Thanks for the heads up on shocks, I'll definitely look into it.
A guy came to buy her original rear bumper today, we had discussed some other possible trades so I ended up getting 2 rally clusters and a manual steering column in exchange for some new rear tail light lenses. He's also selling me a set of nice bucket seats for $200, the parts list is dwindling...
I guess I can verify that 1 1/2 x 3 box tubing isn't enough and can definitely see having them welded into the floor as a major advantage. Yes, the upper arms I have are more for improving the geometry for driving, not stiffness. I'm adding quality shocks, front sway bar and better rear leaves...
I'm about an hour away. I figured I'd drive up and scourer the scratch and dent department, scored a rear disc conversion kit cheap for the daughters car.
