For my driver, I just turned a pair of standard argent grills to black with this....... On the headlight trim rings I just used Rustoleum Metallic Satin Nickle.

In my '69 Barracuda. I believe there is a face mounting bracket difference for fit though........

Drill a small hole in it. Determine its thickness. If its a core plug, pull it out with a slide hammer.

If all else fails, as last resort, one could swap heads side to side.

Ancient info from the '70s DC Racing Manual. Also in later editions of chassis. Not sure if it was in earlier Hustle Stuff.

The MP Chassis manual has a short overview by B & M and a 22-point setup/spec list if that's any value.

If you're going to try this, maybe use a thin, wide blade putty knife and a helper depressing the clutch pedal.

I just used that to piece in a couple inches of MIA plastic for my left surround, reattached the top at the cracked chrome trim, and filled miscellaneous cracks in both sides. It was also suggested I open up the mounting holes for shrinkage of the plastic surrounds to fit on the outer chrome...

FWIW, you might check for a hardened shim behind the pinion bearing race. Two I've taken apart have had one. You may be able to save your old bearing for a setup bearing using a press and sharp splitter. I pull the race and use it cover the bearing then wrap my leather welding apron around it JIC.
