Set the distributor to Number 1 cylinder (by checking the distributor rotor & cap) by rotating the engine.
Remove distributor.
Do NOT rotate engine once distributor is out.
Simply install new or replacement distributor in a similar position - and making sure the rotor aligns to the Number 1...
