Looking for who makes the best quality formed black carpet for my 70 Roadrunner. Not worried about price just want it to fit right and not be junk.
Thanks in advance.

It doesn't matter who is selling it, it is almost always Auto Custom Carpet who made it. Likely best price is from RockAuto, unless other outlets have a sale on, or coupons.

As stated above, all of the molded Mopar carpet kits are now coming from Auto Custom Carpets, ACC, out of Anniston, Alabama.

Might want to consider ordering the carpet with the mass backing as it molded with a heavier rubber like backing that helps the carpet to maintain its shape while acting as an insulator for heat or sound. It will also have the shoddy padding in place as the OEM carpet kits, it is just not as thick. The mass backing option requires a bit more effort to install, but lays out better.

Pricing can be all of the board and if you go the route of mass backing, it is significantly heavier and more expensive to ship. I would also suggest look at the manufactured date if you can see the label if buying at a show or local. These carpet kits that have been crammed inside a box for extended periods can be a real pain to getting those wrinkles out.

Once the carpet kit arrives, if possible, remove from the box and lay out flat to help getting the wrinkles out. Generally, I will call orders in to ACC and the carpet kit will ship within 24 to 36 hours of the order being placed. This insures a nice crisp carpet kit for our customer.

Exactly what I was about to post...

Thanks for the help everyone. I ordered strait from ACC with the mass backing and will unpack it and lay it out flat until I put it in.

Good choice, I installed new mass backed ACC carpet in the GTX a couple years ago and the fit was very good…
