I just spent a ton of time getting the windows out of my '62 Savoy. The window roller especially is a pain to get off if you don't know the tricks!
Figured so many people have helped me through the years, hopefully this helps somebody else someday.
No in Albany woth my in laws, but heading to atlantic city now.
The cast 360 crank is strong. Big main, short stroke. The key is to make sure you don't detonate it.
I can actually get it to leave pretty hard. Leaves at 4200 off the two step, shift at 6200. It's been 9.63@140mph with a 1.38 60ft on the street tires.
Yup same turbo...depending on your application there could be better options, but these are pretty hard to beat.
Yes you are correct, the car has silver/grey interior. Motor is in pieces right now, but should be back together in a few weeks. Feel free to contact me and we can get together if you'd like to look at it again. I'd be interested to know what you know about the cars history also.
First kit is on a junk yard 318" in a demon for testing this summer on a buddies car. He was just finishing up paint for another friend and then we'll be on the turbo test mule project!
You bet it can...15psi on the correct size turbo will for the most part double any power of a stock motor. So a 250hp 318 can easily become a 500hp 318. More boost with better fuel can make even more.
My old combo 360 with home ported iron heads and a small cam made over 700hp...just took...
Turbo's are an entire different animal then what you guys are used to... There are many guys making 1000hp on only 2" exhaust hot side (pre-turbo feed from the engine).
My personal car has been [email protected] in a 3740lb B-body on street tires through the magnum manifolds on only 15~16psi...
I'm not sure if it would make it in the 8's at 3740 with this cam, and we'd have to lean on this turbo REAL hard to do that. But a little bit more cam, and the 80mm compressor wheel upgrade in this turbo would get you there for sure.
Honestly I'm not sure how much more (if any) this...
You are absolutely right, it would probably take more. But na this head probably wants 32 total, so it's not pulling that much for 15-16 pounds.
Also I'm trying to be nice to the cast crank!
This particular turbo is what they call a "mid frame" which is a T6 flange. You are right... it is huge... TOTALLY un neccisary for the power levels I make. That being said... it's actually fairly SMALL compressor wheel inside a huge casting. This turbo can be re-machined to support 1200+hp...
Thanks guys... combo is the following
Stock '91 roller block with 1/2 fill
stock cast crank (not even turned)
Eagle H-beam Rods
Diamond Pistons
CNC ported Eddy's
9.2:1
[email protected]" .540" lift
Victor 340 intake
750HP carb converted for E85 blow through
9.5" PTC converter
727 pushbutton with Trans...
My Dad frequent's here often, so I thought I'd post my combo to share with you guys.
The car started as a 12,000 original mile "Barn find" that was destined to be cut up as a parts car for a convertible restoration. Fortunately for me, they didn't end up using the car so it sat at a friends...
Just wanted to start getting the word out that I'm in the process of engineering/testing/quoting mopar turbo kits right now.
The kit will be based on magnum manifolds (read CHEAP), 2" stainless hotside, 3" stainless downpipe, 44mm gate, 50mm BOV, and various T4 turbo options. All tubes will be...
