What is your total timing at with max boost on e85 on something like that? 24-26 degrees or so??

It's got around 20~22 in it total in it. But different cams, heads, compression ratio's, boost levels, etc... can all change that.
I understand that but I was just wondering what kind of total timing you run with the E85. I had a single turbo EFI 331 small block in my 90 mustang and my total timing was 22degrees on 110 fuel and 18psi.
I would have thought that the e85 may allow more total timing
You are absolutely right, it would probably take more. But na this head probably wants 32 total, so it's not pulling that much for 15-16 pounds.
Also I'm trying to be nice to the cast crank!
This particular turbo is what they call a "mid frame" which is a T6 flange. You are right... it is huge... TOTALLY un neccisary for the power levels I make. That being said... it's actually fairly SMALL compressor wheel inside a huge casting. This turbo can be re-machined to support 1200+hp with the larger compressor wheel. The only reason I bought it is because it was cheap $650~$700. My new kits will have a much smaller T4 turbo. Still supporting 600~1000hp depending on version.
I would say this motor probably makes 400hp on motor alone. It's got nice heads on it, but it's only 9.2:1 compression, and with the small 1 7/8" outlet manifolds, I'm sure that wouldn't help it in N/A form. I run it around 15~16psi, so usually 15psi will double the HP of a motor. I am pretty conservative with the timing/fuel tuneup, so there is probably room to make it better, but it already FLY'S...
I didn't use a big block for a lot of reasons.
First... there aren't really a lot of great manifolds to work with that can be flipped backwards, the small block one's worked very nicely for that.
Second... someone gave the the motor. It was out of a county work truck bought at an auction, so free is good.
Third...Small reasonably priced turbo's can make insane power on small motors. If you have a big motor, you will need a big turbo to feed it or it will choke on the small exhaust side of the small turbo. Big turbo's can be MUCH more expensive (i.e. 2x~3x more)
Thanks for answering my reply. You know it makes me think from your answer that if you or anyone wants to get real seious that you could put your car in the 8's with that eng if you want to chance pushing it and your luck that you dont grenade the eng. I mean what you have now flys and why go for to much if the setup you have now will run solid mid to high 9's all day and not hurt the eng. Cause like you said you can make more power out of it but I guess you have to find a happy spot thats fast enough without having to worry about blowing an eng up. It seems the technology has come a long way on turbo's since the 70's. And if you guess your eng is about 400 hp NA then you have to figure you are doubling the eng power. It is one cool way to make power but for and old dinasour like me I gotta have the old 60's and 70's look of the NA Max Wedge type engines under the hood to kinda be period correct. But that turbo 62 of yours is awesome and will definetly cause some jaws to drop as it is the ultimate sleeper !
One question have you heard or know much about mounting a turbo at the rear of the car like my son was telling me he might want to do ? Thanks again for your reply. Ron
ok, so tell me this dizuster, will this work on my 1967 318? Because if it does, and i can get big HP out of a motor i already own then i have no reason to buy and build the 440 wedge. If it can be plumbed to look clean and have some symmetry in the space it's in then i'm for it. In my book different is good. '67 Coronet 500. Thanks, for all of this info, us old guys need to catch up to the times a little.
Holy crapola Scott!!! that's too frickin cool!
so lemme ax ya...you make a hair-dryer kit for slant 6's?? lol

Yes as mentioned, I am in the process of starting up mopar turbo kits. They will be similar to what I have in this car, but improved packaging and simplicity. Many options from 600~900hp kits. They will be cheaper then other options out there for boost right now (procharger, paxton, etc...) So I'm hoping they will take off. If you guys spent 5 minutes in the ford or chevy forums, you'd have your eyes opened REAL quick to what people are doing with simple turbo kits.
