How to make a better home cooked hamburger ?

The breakfast griddle drippings is why burgers I'd order at old school diners when I was still driving a truck were so good. The places where I stopped used 80/20 ground angus chuck, and it was unbeatable. The finishing touch was a buttered roll crisped on the griddle. Shortly before I retired...

    These worked for me.

Something to help decode your VIN and Fender Tag 1968 ONLY

I've used this one and it worked for me.

Name your favorite off brand muscle car

Similar for me, but I'd have go 1966 and earlier, thinking more along the lines of full size cars, rather than intermediates. Pontiac super duties, 2 plus 2, J-2 Oldsmobile, Buick Riviera Gran Sport.

    the daily rant

Your can buy a wheelchair without a prescription, if you pay out of pocket. The ads I've seen are almost all fairly old videos for high end equipment, probably proven not cost effective marketing. When insurance gets involved, prices go through the roof. Read an article by a Harvard Medical...

The Body of a Brit, but the Heart of a Mopar....

In the early 60s, I heard the story of the creation of the AC Cobra from a guy who had actually raced with Shelby. He was a grad assistant working with my dad at Penn State. He and his wife came for brunch one weekend, and arrived in the 1957 AC Bristol from his racing days, now in street...

69 roadrunner 440 correct air cleaner?

If you are trying to duplicate a '68 to early ''69 440 Plymouth (GTX), it's a red "super commando 440." Late '69 switched to the same with orange background. Red ones are cheaper.

    Beware Fake NOS Parts

I got bit last year with a high quality reproduction part with NOS box. I had a bunch of boxes from stuff I put on cars I no longer own, but I won't play that game. Another reason why I still like to do old school Carlisle swap meet rather than the internet.

For Sale: Not Mine Might be a good deal for Charger fans

My dad special ordered it on his new 1970 Valiant, it was double sided tape. Also had disc brakes, heavy duty suspension, and sure grip rear, those were my input. Our previous 1967 model had an aluminum molding that was anchored with plastic mounts inserted in factory drilled holes.

Trying to get better braking out of my 67 GTX 11” drums

PA not only pulls the drums, the lining thickness is noted on the inspection form. For many years it was a twice a year deal for cars, and it wasn't until the year before I retired that it went to once a year for commercial trucks. I licensed Baby Blue as a "classic," requiring the annual...

What will it bring? 1967 Hemi GTX @ Mecum.

You have cited valid reasons for your decision. This issue has been kicked around on previous threads, and the consensus seems to be that Mecum can be an appropriate venue for selling, but not so much for buying, the issue being the factors driving inflated prices. I consigned a car in 2020...

Chargers for sale by crack addicts

Same with Baby Blue. With completely rust free trunk floor and floor pans. Try to find that today. And in 1983, the current one, repaired with NOS sheet metal, was considered a "remade rust bucket," by my former brother in law who worked at the dealership when it was new.

    Question

We have a member here who restores them. @hemi71x. I bought one from him last year for my 69 GTX, and it works great.

Going to check a 68 Charger

I did the wire mesh with bondo back in the day to get a buddy's daily driver through PA state inspection after he flunked. I took more time, and used a fiberglass base when I did my Valiant.:)

Trying to get better braking out of my 67 GTX 11” drums

Similar situation in central PA with the white tailed deer. When I used to drive that drum brake GTX to the Chrysler Nationals, with an early morning start, I'd detour through downtown, rather than expose myself to deer crossing the road by my development. I have power discs in the current car...

    Carlisle 2025 Show Discount

I booked my lodging early, and the rate had increased, so I only did two nights. Maybe I should cancel and re-book? Same place as last year. Will register this year with my buddy's Ram. Still smarting from last year's episode with law enforcement, even though I beat the ticket, GTX may stay...

Trying to get better braking out of my 67 GTX 11” drums

I was used to really long stopping distances. The car stopped well compared to my daily driver.

What will it bring? 1967 Hemi GTX @ Mecum.

If I had deeper pockets, that red '69 Hemi GTX would make a nice pair with the Demonstrator. Almost makes me wish I'd worked another year. But not quite.

What will it bring? 1967 Hemi GTX @ Mecum.

One of the reasons they don't show up on sites like this one is that really nice, cherished examples, tend to be held by their owners until they end up in an estate sale, and the family chooses the easiest means of liquidating the asset. The only winner in that scenario is the auction company...

What will it bring? 1967 Hemi GTX @ Mecum.

I bought a terrific numbers matching '68 Hemi GTX on this site four years ago. Sold it to another FBBO member a year later, when a car I liked better became available. In each purchase and sale, my fellow members and myself got tremendous satisfaction out of keeping our hard earned money out...
