Thankyou everyone, I was just concerned over the shifter linkages. All the parts I currently have are out of another 73 charger so it’ll all work without modifications, the driveshaft is 4 1/4in shorter than the 904 one. I’m staying with a 904 the only reason I’m switching the stuff out...
Hello everyone, I’m switching my 318/904 set up too a 360/727 in my 73 charger. I have a 727 out of another charger and the correct driveshaft. What other linkages do I need to change? Is the cross memeber the same? I have to rent the lift so I need everything ready before I get under it.
It’s a column shift car and the headers were unknown brand ones presumably hookers. I went and bought another set that are also hookers and they ended up working great.
Hey everyone, I have a 73 charger with a 904 and a 340. I have the headers all bolted on and the shifter linkage goes right through where the collector is at. If anyone has an idea of how I could alter it to work around the headers or get a kit to change it, that would be awesome.
I’ll contact bob and see what he’ll do, unfortunately Year one and Mancini carries only stuff up to 72. So what I’ll most likely just do is buy all the 72 belts, and hoses and it should be as close as I can get it.
Everywhere I’ve looked states the hoses are for 70 challengers, I have no idea if they used the same hoses for them up until 73 and also in the charger. I wonder if those guys could actually fix the radiator in the car, it’s rotten down at the bottom
Hey everyone, I’m wrapping up my 340 stroker build for my charger and I’m trying to find the “correct” mopar radiator/heater hoses for the car. It’s a 1973 charger 340 a/c car. I want the car too appear close to it’s original form if at all possible so any help locating correct decals and hoses...
Thanks man, I’ve had mine since I was 13 and I don’t plan on getting rid of it, I do want to go on a road trip of Route 66 with it a few years from now so 355s might be a better option
I think I forgot to mention I have 640hp and 545tq and a built 727 to match, Im going with a Dana because I’m eventually gonna go for over 1000 with a Ritter block so I don’t wanna buy another rear
Hey everyone, I’m coming too a close on my engine build and now I’m to the point of picking a rear gear for the car. It’s a ‘73 charger with a 340 (now 373) with magnum heads, I’m primarily driving the car on the street with very little highway driving. I’m looking for a good gear to hook well...
Speaking of the A/C brackets, the ones off the original RV-2 don’t actually work with my RPM air gap intake I have which I will run on either set of heads, do I actually need the brackets behind the RV-2 or are they necessary. I am going to re-drill slanted intake holes in the magnum heads so I...
I’ve got a 340/373 stroker and I’ve got two sets of heads. I’ve got ported 318 heads with a 1.88 intake 1.6 exhaust and a set of stock magnum heads. I know the magnums will make more power but how would I retrofit them into the LA 340?
Awesome the little tag was the more important question I needed answered. Does anyone know if the EGR valve and the chrome heater are painted with the intake or not originally?
I have side pipes, I want it too look like the motor belongs in the car basically, so just like a 73 340 car and yes the 73 chargers did come with dual exhausts. This engine is far from stock, it’s a 373 with an RPM air gap, headers among other things but hardly anything external. I want it too...
I have everything off my 318 I’m gonna put on it. Does the RV-2 have the data plate in 1973? I’ve almost finished the rebuild so now it’s to finishing details
I have a 1970 340 out of a cuda that I’m putting into my 73 charger. I’m trying to make it look like the original 318 that was in the car I.e. correct way to paint it etc. one thing I’m trying to find out is what kind of decals that would go onto the 73 RV-2 compressor. The data plates I found...
Okay, thankyou all for the help I’ll make the ad here in a minute.
It’s not a factory Rallye car but I’ve always liked the Rallyes so it’s got the Rallye package on it. It was originally a tan and brown car. It will have a 440 here soon along with the whole redo. I’m the third owner of the car.
