That's the way I had mine.....but there were no 'takers'....got one in my live tender trap and one in a spring trap. There's one more rat but looks to be gone. Traps are still set though.
When I started my Plymouth which had not run for 4 years or more when I bought it here's what I did:
1. I primed the oil system with a priming tool.
2. With no plugs in it I bumped it to find compression on #1.
3. Installed the distributor at 0 degrees.
4. Cranked it over using the starter motor...

Besides jetting the 340 and 440 carbs were the same. So it really doesn’t matter as long as you jet them and get the correct vacuum secondary springs in them.
Exactly, when I bought my Superbird back in 87 the six pack was gone, and it had a TM7 and a 750 Holley carb on it. I was at a show and literally bought 6?pack setup from a guys trunk, he wasn’t even there for the show, just driving by. Long story short, I rebuilt the carbs myself, jetted them...
