    A buddy of mine back in the 80s had a coal stove in his workshop that worked pretty good. The only problem was the closest place to get coal was 50 miles one way. I remember going with him because you had to shovel your own load. Got warm twice with that load.

    Prevents or solves? Another discussion ought to cover why the "wear" is observed in the first place, or was it possibly that the way it came off the production line? We don't know it seems. The use of a mislabeled "stiffening Plate" to solve an unrelated wear problem is rather misleading...
