...2006. The part number on the invoice is RC426
Glad I grabbed it, it’s been awesome to work with. I’m even contemplating firing up the engine while it’s on the dolly.
FYI this engine/trans dolly will be for sale when I'm done, along with the front and rear sub frame/dollies built for B bodies..
...jack, delivery and setup was better than the BB. After it was put together I loaded my 65 onto it. Went to rotate it around on the supplied dollies and promptly folded two of them over. They are made of 1/4" x 1 1/2" strap. Dummy me, I didn't just get on the horn and go WTF. I just maneuvered...
Welcome to the dark side.
66/67 B body cars are actually pretty light.
I have a 67 4 door parts car on HF dollies and I can almost twirl it around in the shop.
I bought a used 16 foot Master Tow, only paid $2000 for it. Have had it now 13 years. Absolutely no problems, Have pulled it at 75MPH w/66 on back. Remember 10% of weight should be on tongue, And get a weight distribution hitch!!! Aluminum trailers are great but big money. Probably x2 of...
...that holds it at about the right height of where the engine would be when the wheels and tires are on. I have my car on car moving dollies, so I increased the height of the fixture about 2 inches to compensate for that. The front of the cart actually holds the K frame by the rear bolt...
...I should post these photos here or in the shop, garage tools forum. Maybe I'll do both.
I had the material and decided to make one of these dollies instead of paying $200. I modified the "cradles" and used 2 1/2 inch flat bar for the top of the adjustable upright and cradle arms. I cut the...

...feather fill. Both are very easy to work with and sand.
I will be honest, Im just a 40 hr per week bodyman and I use stud guns & hammers , dollies & filler sometimes a lot of it.
Im not chip fooseball and I dont have the time to massage welded in patchs & dents to the point were no filler...
Your panel doesn't look that bad and you may be able to use some dollies to get it straighter and then a skim coat.
If you do go the replacement route , lucky for you the area you need is not the area that typically rusts out. Your best bet will be to find someone with a parts car and get that...
I don't think I've seen it explained yet, but there is no suspension on most dollies.
They use the suspension of the car.
That's why there's the bouncing when empty, and why you don't want to put anything besides a car with working suspension on one.
...point which is the first thing to happen comes out last. A trip to your local autobody supply shop should provide you with the necessary dollies, hammers, and shoes to get things close. Certainly use a dent puller as suggested but only after you have exhausted the hammer and dolly method...
...I first posted the initial pictures. Did a bit of digging. Knocked around the frame rails to the degree I could reach with the car on wheel dollies (which was quite a bit despite laying on the freezing concrete floor). Also after watching that video that was posted (and a lot more in the...
...up to get the engine bay sandblasted and painted next weekend.
My biggest hurdle was how to move the car. I didn’t want to buy expensive dollies for the front end, and let them get ruined with sandblasting and paint, so I decided to try and make some. I picked up some box tubing, angle iron...
