Many of the young guys don't. I have seen it at shops I visited in the last 30 years of the tool business.

FOR SALE Rebuilt Bendix Brake Booster 3/8 Mounting Studs

Bought this for my 70 Bee not realizing it had the large 3/8 studs where it goes through the fire wall...I'm not really sure what it's Original application is. What I do know is that the studs will not fit through a normal factory firewall, backing plate, or pedal rack. Be sure of what you...

Zinc and black phosphate Services Needed

Before oiling the parts, they have a very flat gray/brownish color. The oil makes them appear black and adds a slight amount of sheen.

Do these upper a-arm ball joint threads look OK?

Yes I read that wildrt uses impact exclusively. Just trying to understand Cranky’s comment @Cranky

Do these upper a-arm ball joint threads look OK?

So are you @Cranky saying using a weak impact gun wont drive them in or using a shitty impact gun will strip or destroy the threads?

    Balancing

IF the pistons and rods are near enough to stock weight, you should be fine. If you take too much off the balance pads on the rods, or use significantly lighter rods or pistons, (or heavier, tho lighter is much more common) then yes, you should get the crank balanced. IF you can give the...

I wasn’t aware that there were options, I just ordered a pint of the blue liquid and mixed it with water according to the instructions. There are some basic tutorials on YouTube, that’s where I got inspired to do it myself.

    The Roach

Not to get off track here, but when I built my 70 Road Runner I spent a lot of time wiring and installing the fuel injection, A/C Bluetooth stereo, higher amp alternator, etc. In my car, I tried to make it look as (reasonably) stock as possible. In the 10 years I have been driving my car, it...

You oil the parts after doing the black oxide process. After the oxide absorbs the oil you wipe off the excess, but they really don’t feel oily if that’s what you’re asking.

Thanks Hawk. I'm trying to make it as neat as possible. Next up will be mounting the battery box in the trunk & running the #1 wire. Waiting for a friend to make up a bracket to mount a battery kill switch onto.

The Meme not a Meme Thread Part DEUX

I remember the 640 KB ram...I had an Atari ST and upgraded the 512 KB to 2.5 mb, for $70. The PC guys were amazed at how much memory I had. And that I had a wireless mouse in 1991 as well. I used to spend hours every night on the local bulletin boards back then.
