I use one of these often with my screwdrivers.... Very handy for creating a long magnet for picking up screws and swarf when working on electrical panels....and de-magnetising afterwards of course. Electricians screwdrivers develop magnetism while working, so it pays to have one of these on...

Cannot see the mesh of the stock p/up, going from experience. Some aftermarket p/ups have coarser mesh than in the pic. I always use a stock p/up buuuuut after modifying it for better flow.

I wouldn't worry about warping the aprons. There's lots of rigidity there. If you were doing exterior panels, that is a different story.

These two meshes on this stock oyster P/up and aftermarket P/up look almost the same diameter to my eye. I could be wrong.
