have 4 very good condition polyglass G60 tires that came on my 70 GTX that i purchased from Streetside Classics last year. not positive on date code as is different on these than newer tires i'm used to looking at. may be 9-10 yrs old but tons of tread and for bias-ply, they drove fine. (i don't...
235 70 15's on front are for sure on short-list .. so i don't end up buying 4 new tires (just 2 fronts). seeing a lot of photos and video on the Vanguard motor sales page that have many of their mopars in past, sold with 235 70's on the front and 275 60's out back. will see. this combo would...
when i was saying "bulge" (and maybe others mean it same way), i was meaning the wider the tread on the same rim, the tire tread and sidewall protrude out further from the rim.. can keep going, to a point. As you said, if within the mfgs accepted range, shouldn't be an issue. Personally, i'd...
the tread looks good and flat on these 295 50s, and what PSI do you run.. have read some comments on other forums saying they have to go down to get tread to lay flat when using 8" rims ?? the sidewalls don''t look bad either on these 8" rims.. decisions !
nice! the sidewalls don't bulge too much on those BFG's on 8" rims. Which FRONT TIRES do you have on there? 245 60? or even 255 60s'.. those look ideal to me.. somehow the sidewalls don't even bulge much more than the 295 50's on the back
getting a bit spooked for the awesome 295 50's on my 8" rims.. it would "work" but not be ideal till i get 9" or ideally, 10" rims. to get my front looking better may just get the 245 60's up front or 225 70's.. and keep the 275 60's out back that are on the car. i added another 1.5 turs on the...
cool.. and what psi do you run? i'm finding some comments on various forums that say on an 8" rim, these wider tires had to be run with a bit less psi to keep the centers of tread from wearing as fast.
and your 295 50s are on stock-ish sized 15 x 8 wheels?
about to pull trigger on 295 50s and most comments are saying they WILL work on 8" wheels. BFG site says they will fit on a rim width range from 8" to 10.5", but then says "measured rim" of 9.5" ? wonder what these 2 things mean..
these are darn close, the 225 70 is .4" taller than the 255 60.. i'm likely going with 295 50 R, 245 60 F and they are the same heights. 26.6" tall . I just cruise around in this car, so compound grip isn't super important so went with they typical BFG radials.
Was gonna keep the 275 60 rears...
323 gears it appears based on what folks on this forum said before when i asked about mph vs my rpm, and that i had the stock height G60 gy plygls tires before.. Rims are 8" all around so I have a good choice of tire sizes available ! 440ci, single 4brl carb, mild cam, alum heads but mild from...
the GY polyglass G60 is similar in size to a 245/60 15. Goodyear Polyglas GT RWL E/S | G60-15
loved the size of the G60.
may end up with a 245/60 front, and the 295/50 rear. LOL
Both 26.6 tall, the 295/50 is 11.6 wide, 245/60 is 9.6 wide
Anyone near tampa need a new a pair of 275/60 and a...
so now on fence about going 295 50 rear, and leaving the 235 60 i have on front now.. selling the rear 275 60s for a loss instead of the 235 60s ... LOL. I'd like the bigger front tires though to fill up the wheel well a tad more, but those 295 50s DO look sweet, and interesting they will fit...
my gtx came with G60-15 polyglass tires, so would they be same HEIGHT as the 235/70?? just wider than the G70-15 polyglass?? .. loved the size of them, especially on the front. not pleased with the 235/60's we have on front now, I want to go taller and close to 9" wide on the tire, like the...
love the look of the 295 50s, but i'd need a wider wheel than the 8" ones i have ? the 275 60's are surprisingly tall. And would you suggest going ahead with another alignment check if i cranked up the bolts under the lower control arms a few turns??
and can anyone confirm that it's totally needed to get alignment done again if just a 2-3 turns of ride height is added by turning the screws under the lower control arms? seemed to drive fine on way home today from shop with 2 more turns added from before, but they suggest doing alignment...
