I have talked with the tech building the harness a decent bit. They had some universal mopar type harnesses before, but not a designated year model harness for the b bodies.
It sounds like other companies may have one on the market sooner, but these guys are clearly putting the thought and effort into making a better product. I’m sure they will speak up on all the differences, but they did decide to do a separate harness for the 70 vs the 68-69 as an example.
Keep your eyes open for future products from these guys…my car was the builder car for the prototype 70 charger harness! No ETA…but they are a good company and they make a well thought out harness.
Plans changed from a carb setup to a Holley sniper, so it’s easier to just run their hyperspark distributor with the hyperspark coil and timing box.
This has the variable phase rotor in it and is locked out. You’d need to get the parts to go back to stock if that’s the route you want to go...
My 70 charger headlight motor is noisy and the plastic piece that holds the square rod is broken. Unfortunately it looks like it needs a rebuild. Being a one year part, and expensive, who is the go to guy for rebuilds? And any estimates on price? I will also need to get my 3 speed wiper motor done.
My 70 charger floor shift car apparently has an e body column shift column. It needs a full rebuild inside, since the ignition, turn signals and all of those are all not working.
I know some places sell repro steering columns…what are the pros and cons to buying reproduction vs buying an oem...
I caved and bought the Classic Auto kit. I have heard it performs better, and for me the layout of the controls looked way better than how the Vintage Auto Air unit was set up.
I filed out the holes to make them work…and it did flatten out once the nuts were tightened down. It’s frustrating to have those issues for sure. Some studs are clearly under more tension than others. Supposedly all were test fitted on an engine there, but my oil pan studs didn’t all line up...
I have a 400 stroker with the AE engineering Billet timing cover and stock alternator and power steering brackets. I would assume I want the 2 ring ATI for stock locations?
I hate to play 1000 questions, but this is my first build and I don’t want to buy the wrong parts. I have been...
For a 4.375 bore motor, what size gasket would you go with? Is 4.380 good? I have heard you want it slightly bigger than the bore.
Also, are mopar performance ones any good? They have a set at .025 which would bump up my CR a bit. With a 0.039 head gasket, I should get 10.4:1. I would assume...
This may be an odd request, but does anyone have a used/compressed big block head gasket they would be willing to sell?
I need to make measurements, but would prefer not to waste a perfectly good new head gasket.
Considering selling this to pick up a Holley EFI setup off marketplace.
These carbs retail for almost $1300 new.
Fuel line and pressure gauge were ordered new off summit.
Asking $800 plus like $20 for shipping.
They are ball on both ends. Of course I have the wrong adjustable pushrod tool.
You think it’s fine just assuming PTV is good with those specs? I know it’s best to actually measure, but how risky is just throwing the heads on and measuring pushrods?
It’s their -24cc dish piston…from what I gather their kits have icon pistons.
Cam has duration of 243/251 at 0.050” and an “advertised” duration of 295/303.
I am getting close to needing to measure pushrods and check PTV clearance and had a few questions.
For a bit of background, I am building a 400-512 stroker with tfs270 heads, t&d 1.6 rockers, and a lunati voodoo hydraulic roller cam with comp cams evolution lifters.
Any ideas on what length...
I am almost done piecing together my 512, just a few more odds and ends are needed.
I had considered buying or building a run stand to test fire it outside of the car in case I have any leaks or issues. But I was watching the total seal ring channels video and they recommend breaking in the...
