Idaho Air National Guard Hogs. Loaded for a photo opp. -617 had my name on it when I was in the Mass ANG. Most useful vehicle of any kind that the USAF ever bought.
I think i would also say stiff, compared to the loose standard feel. It might be the same as the firmer rebuilds. I like it so far, and will comment further.
Photon 440, you ex-USAF? I am! Some B-47s had strengthened wings to deliver nukes "over the top" a half loop in a 6 engine bomber. I learned and practiced this maneuver in the Super Sabre: 500KIAS, 500 feet or less, fly OVER the target, 4g pull up, hold the g precisely with a special instrument...
FWIW, my right side turn signals both failed. Before I started to strain my neck under the dash, I accidentally discovered that the turn signal stalk needs to be held extreme right to trigger the signals. So...i hope a simple adjustment.
I live across the river from Matt of Firm Feel, who took over from his Dad, who is still around. They have treated me very well, tho' they typically have weeks of projects to fulfill. I also receive great service from Steer and Gear.
Bought from Classic, but you can get direct from Lares. 2.5 turns. No need to change steering column or pitman. Transformed the car, tho' the steering feels dead, and the new PS pump needs fast idle to cope at idle. I have only driven a few miles, but so far, I can recommend...
Required the grandchildren age 12, to endure Ben Hur, all 3.5h, over 2 nights. Still a magnificent epic, very accurate historically, and I particularly like the oblique approach to Jesus, and, to be fair, the portrayals of Jews and Arabs...before Islam.
English electric Lightning! I saw her perform at air shows in the 60's, turning as tight as a later F-16! More than once we chased one in our F-100s...they simply walzed away, not needing "reheat" Splendid machine.
Quick, your post is a reasonable economic argument...up to a point...the theory being that illegal immigrants will take any job, at lower wages than "real Americans". (I assume you do not intend to argue that "real Americans" are...white...) This has always been the case since Revolutionary...
SR-71, chased by a "clean" F-104 (no external tanks or weapons) at Edwards AFB, or Palmdale - I can't recall the buildings and runway. The starfighter could probably keep up as the SR has a lower T/W Thrust to Weight, but would very quickly run out of gas.
All test flights have a chase...
on news last eve: Honda Nissan Mitsubishi CEOs announcing merger. In the 80's, in the USAF in far northern Japan, we had a Nissan "Fairlady" - car names in Japan are sweet, not aggressive. A 4dr sedan, SOHC in line 6 of ? 2L. Splendid little motor car. Speed limits - on the separated...
The smaller jet flying thru the hangar is a Hawker Hunter, single seat. At one time it held the world speed record, around 740mph, just shy of Mach 1. It had a one-off "reheat" to achieve the record over the English Channel. A few weeks later, the F-100 Super Sabre captured the record, at, I...
Motor fried, $300 to fix. Looking for used, functional pump. A kind soul replied with parts for $100, but the authorities deleted my original post and replies. Please DO reply again, I shall definitely buy your pump and ram!
Motor up side burned out, ;probably from excess side loads on the driver side frame. So....if i disconnect the rams, can I easily lift the top to close, or will I need an actual normal strength human to help? :(
I too have a 63 SF vert, in PDX. Complete, ZERO rust car, just sorting the renewed front suspension and steering. Old photo, now has new paint, tan top, etc.
