Sweet Plymouth! I bought one from Pasadena in '94 and drove it for years with minor fixes and upgrades for some 15-years before deciding to do an all out (or in) restoration.
I enjoy listening to boogie woogie and many other gen tunes and watching pro-dancers. As much music as I thought I knew as a geezer, I still find some cool tunes from the 40’s and 50’s I've either never heard or could be maybe forgot that set the foundation for rock.
Thought I’d share this as...
Lots of great comments about Uecker. He resided in my hometown outside Milwaukee for years near my folks house back when. All the summers listening to Brewers games with his iconic voice just felt like being home. His passing reminds me how old I am. Maybe my departed mother, a rabid...
May have posted this before, I installed an evaporator on the compressor not long after my OP and a fan (not in the photo). It helped, but not greatly. I have the compressor on a cart so I can move it btw garages - to heated garage during winter. The line routing as mentioned above is my next...
I rarely use the phone in the car for obvious reasons, but when I do, have this one that tightens into a cup holder in my '63 Plymouth. Can insert and remove using one hand. Most of the time it's stowed in the console.
I bought a new one off eBay for some 25-bucks around 5-years ago. There are a ton of them for sale. My Hermosa radio had a connect for power antenna hook up. Still works fine.
My ’63 is similar having about a ¼-inch gap. This is the 3rd top since I’ve had the car always a gap, the last top was set wrong having a larger gap, around an inch and was replaced; but this wasn’t the only ill-fit hassle. Note how the edge of the quarter window (edge trim) is covered by the...
Few years ago, I bought new center caps for my new magnum’s, when I put the 2nd cap on one screw stripped out. The hole wasn’t threaded deep enough and the screws provided were dang close to being too long as it was. Found another short-threaded hole in another cap and tapped it deeper. Then a...
Glad you and Fred are fine. Had a similar experience on my Challenger WAY back when putting Magnums on and my brother taking the Keystones I had on it. Longer story. You probably know, but I’d take your ride out for a nice-long drive to make sure nothing got fudged with the alignment, no...
There’s a brake pedal ratio factor for manual and power brakes, in case you may not have checked this. On my ride, there are two holes in the pedal arm, upper and lower holes for manual or power brake linkage connection. Upper is for manual, lower for power brakes. There is a lot of info on the...
I have an idea why this request arrived. As posted and as agreed, you can make your own bigly as you wish and even having it swirl and stuff…though seems like memes have become more popular.
There were changes in the cowling area noticeable by how different the dashes are. I had thought due to this, the hoods weren't interchangeable; but a guru on these cars I know said they are. I do think there are some differences with the doors or front door posts, not being swap-able. I'm...
JMO, given you say you’re not a fan of early B’s, I’d either pass on it or if it’s a nice deal to buy, take it and re-sell it to someone who wants to restore a ride like this if reselling has some worth for the trouble. A ‘sport’ makes it more special. As posted you can find parts, but should...
Old hoses, all of them get weak eventually needing replacing, if the lower hose is weak and haven't changed the upper one, good time to do it. Brake hoses, fuel, vacuum hoses, pcv, get mushy from wear and/or age and can collapse or fail under use.
Is this joking around? Creating hurricanes and only targeting red-states? They’re along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, AL, MS, LA, FL, TX, suffering hurricanes as long as the records go back. Blue-states along the Atlantic coast have had hurricanes. Seems that a few blue-states have had their...
I have a poly with headers having to use the shorter filter accessing it from an access opening in the fender well. Filter doesn’t fit through the opening so I set it on the header (using plastic bags laid on the header to catch any oil) then lift out from the top.
