still have small issue. pulled the carb off, cleaned and installed a new kit. changed pv to a 3.5 (had 8.5 inches of vacuum at idle in gear) fine tuned ex pump. changed jets to 70 prim, and 76 sec. also installed plain spring for sec. also set float level just under hole, it runs great but still...

4 degrees before, i pulled the plugs and they are all black..

i did adjust the floats the way you said, didnt make any differance. will the power valve cause this? or could it be a timing or ignition problem..

all i can say is WOW, motor runs awesome. Has a ton of low end snap and great throttle responce, and sounds awesome. runs super cool, i ran it for a good hour and could touch the head. I want to thank everyone that replied and helped me achieve my goal. Special thanks to rustratrod. i have one...

haven't had time to work on it, rusty i will get the pics of the work i did on the heads posted when i have more time. i did pick up a holley 3310 750 vacuum sec. what jets should i use? and what spring in the sec? lifters, cam, lifters and time gears came in today:)

well, finished the heads, refaced valves, installed new lunati springs, retainers, locks. heads turned out great, hope all that work pays off. i have a steel shim head gasket and a felpro one that came in the kit. witch one should i use?, i read stories about the shim not sealing without copper...

well i took on the job to port/bowl work myself(452), i worked on one head all day yesterday, takes forever... looking real good, i will post some pics when im done. Thanks for the replys, i love to here different opinions, i figured doing the work on the heads will put me that much closer.

rusty, are the 452 any good being they have harden axaust seat, same valve size as the 906?

I called a place today and they referred me to a guy that does it. i didnt get a chance to talk to him yet. I looked into dist but cant spring for one yet. I picked up the intake for 30.00:)

Rusty, i just picked up a weiand 8008 dual plane, will this be ok. ordered the above listed parts today, i went with the proper springs for the cam. what and where do i find the springs for dist? what weight would you try first?

Great, now im heading in the right direction. A friend of mine has a dominator intake he said i could have? not sure it would work for bottom end ? the intakes i have are speedbore, would a adapter to square effect it? Thanks for the advice guys.

Thanks i will look into getting that done to the heads, i also have a set of stock 906 and 516 heads if there better. i'm also looking at the pertronix ignitor 3 kit for ignition ? The cam kit i was looking at does not come with springs but does come with a gear and chain. will stock springs...
