Does the door window have to be pulled from the door to replace this seal? Does the metal trim piece with the channel have to be removed from the window? Anyway to do this with the window kept in place in the door? Just trying to see what is involved before taking door panels and everything...
...500 and am planning on media blasting the entire car. I removed the doors, window glass, and regulators and am just left with the windowchannel and vent. Two questions:
1) Should I remove the windowchannel (or can this be blocked off during media blasting?)
2) How do I remove the...
I’m trying to figure out how to replace the front windowchannels on my ‘67 Satellite and the FSM is confusing me.. or i ordered the wrong parts. FSM shows that the plastic sliders attach to glass and hold the seal on, and that the whole assembly slides in channel. The flimsy plastic window...
ya ... but had most of the body parts from the concord/hornet the concord coup was a hornet with the spirit front clip bumpers and dash. all the body panels will swap out. but ya have to use the upper window frame from the hornet if ya use the door from a spirit on the hornet or concord or the...
Darn, my originals are completely disentigrated, can’t copy them. Gonna have to wing it.
To replace these, how do i get the entire window removed and then slid back into the channel, from above or below? The plate on top of the channel is riveted on, does the entire quarter window assembly and...
I'm trying to install these - Link
I lubed the channel up good with silicone spray. I'm down to the last 3" on the first one and I'm starting to think I may not get it any further. Is there a trick I'm missing? It surely isn't supposed to be this hard.
...properly. Too much gap from one side to another
Third- I also notice the rear doesn't have the little spacers in the bottom of the windowchannel, which I think it's not centered.
I'd like to know because IF the glass has to come back out, I'd like to have the right clips :BangHead:
Thanks!
Rope it is . I’d like to use the same 3m bedding and glazing but don’t understand how that can work. The rope will pull out the sealant and make a mess. If I put a bead on the windowchannel and lay the windshield and gasket on it , that would also make a huge mess. Any tips or tricks?
Theres a window felt and the guides you speak of that go there. Here’s a link for a kit from year one but you may be able to find them elsewhere. The guides may need a little work to fit the channel correctly but can be made to work by sanding a little off of them if they fit too tight in the...
I just got done installing the "new" reproduction window division channel on my passenger door. Couldn't be happier, nice fit, glass is slides up and down real nice.
Found it , there is a phillips screw on outside of door window frame across from top pivot / hinge , took off rubber out side seal and there it was , was looking inside top frame and channel for screw , don't show this in FSM .
Does anybody have experience with AMD door and QTR glass. I have read plenty about the back glass.
I have a full set of glass from ECS that I bought new 4 years ago. Front and back glass are OK and made them work. The problem is the side glass. Too much curve on the door and qtr glass. Door...
...I would have to do this. But after restoring the car found that is a problem you should address. Just to say. Trying to find good windowchannel felts is one of our other problems and how to install them so they work well. I went through three set's before getting the darn thing's to work...
I have found the new white plastic clips are a bit oversized and cause the window to be very stiff sliding in the front track. They usually need to be filed down a bit.
You mean between the vent window and the door glass? The vent window doesn't meet the rear glass, LOL. You're talking about the "glass run channel" which is one of the most expensive, troublesome parts of restoring a B-body. Richard and the folks at RPM is your go to for this.
You might have...
