The idler bottom bolt goes through the alt bracket? I just got my idler setup in today. I’m assuming this is why my alt was at an angle and requires washers to shim it straight with the ac pulley. I already picked up a single groove for the water pump.
Put the lifter in a paint cap full of oil, use a push rod in a drill press and see if you can pump it hard... if not take it apart, clean it, reassemble and try again.
I don't know if this will answer your questions, but I have a '66 Satellite and I have some experience with the brakes.
The original brake line for the front passenger brake went straight across the firewall, then turned down to join the 4-way junction block on the frame rail. The block had an...
It's really sad for me thinking how not long ago I got so many car magazines that I didn't have time to read all of them that showed up in my mailbox.
Then magazines started to shut down and as of a few months ago, my car mag subscriptions went down to 0.
First it was Muscle Car Review, then...
I had one. Hemmings Muscle Machines and that was pretty good. In November/December got notified that was no more and would be included in Hemmings motor news and my subscription would carry on with HMN. Its now February and nothing new to read.
Dumped all but one they come like everyone has read them and that they had been tossed in the garbage , the one I kept was my military mag that comes in envelope sealed
It is sad to see the demise of printed car magazines. I used to buy 6-8 different ones per month years ago. The only one I buy of the news stand now is Collectible Automobiles, but it has gotten expensive; almost $20.00CAN per issue, including sales tax. My only subscription is to a magazine...
Once removed, should the lifters move at all when pushed on, with a rod? I assume the lifters that were on any partially open valve should have less oil and so allow movement, correct?
Just asking because I noticed some had play and some didn't.
Well we guessed most every American car and most colors accept gray. Gulf was a given.
Was fun as always and a big thanks to @DeltaV for filling in for @PlymCrazy !
Oooooh, I knew I'd hit a snag before getting the Coronet home. We ordered a new park brake cable for the right rear. First one was the left, sent it back, got the "right" cable. Except it is too short by less than an inch. One lousy inch! So, now the bracket is being modified to accommodate...
There has been an over population, infestation, of squirrels in the neighborhood that i live in.
There isn't any predators for those little critters, and they breed like heck.
Got really pissed off with them, so i went and purchased a squirrel trap off Amazon to get rid of them.
Trapped 8 of...
This competition didn't unfold the way I anticipated. I didn't expect Gulf and Grey to be the first ones guessed correctly and I surely didn't expect Volkswagen to be guessed this early in the game!
It was fun!
Thanks everyone!!!
I gotta go back outside and do yard work now.
