were these year specific for 1970? I see plenty of collapsible columns out there, wondering if any parts will fit my application especially since I have to convert from column shift to floor shift.
Also, any drawings, schematics would be greatly appreciated.
thanks, I actually have two column shift columns and am considering a rebuilt. I don't care for originality since the whole car had been upgraded with bells and whistles. I got it already painted, rolling with a rebuilt and upgraded 440. Will give it a try - I have never really thought of any...
It was a column shift - now the shifter is in the floor. I am looking to buy a used column to rebuild it - perhaps I can put one good one together out of two with some new parts that are still available. Steering has been converted to rack and pinion. Was wondering if there is a unit out there...
as the steering column I got with the car is pretty beat-up I'm looking into possible replacements. Any suggestions? Floor shift... I'd like to keep ignition switch in the column even though wiring I got for the car came with dash ignition switch.
thanks,
Were these buckets (and rings) one year only or is it B-body typical part? I have nothing to compare it to and seem to have a problem finding any replacements, even used for restoration. All I know is that it's 6"
thx
good read... I'm gonna face the same dilemma with my 70 Charger where there is no wiring left whatsoever after the body work and paint... I was considering buying repro harnesses separate for the engine, dash, rear and front lights but then figured that it would probably be more cost effective...
well, I've got a propane heater but that would do... garage is attached to the house and is well insulated.
as for arm and a leg, I always keep a few spare ones around here so that should be no problemo.
It's going to be semi-custom - there's only so much I can do and trust me, it already cost me an arm and a leg. Looking forward though to the long wintry nights in the garage.
:)
Thanks... like a mirror! Problem is most of the parts, especially the front is one year only and I'm missing a lot. Not sure what to do with the grille... and there is no trace of any wiring. There is a 440 magnum under the hood, completely upgraded plus rebuilt and upgraded 727 transmission...
Well, I acquired a shell of a 1970 Charger with quite a few modifications and am beginning a long road putting it all back together - lots and lots of bits and pieces missing and so I have to warn you, many questions will be coming as Mopar is actually something new to me.
thanks,
