selling 16 new variable rate lifters for 383-440. there like the one Hughes Engines sells. I got them a few years back from AMS racing. $ 110.00 plus shipping.
The bolts will have a shoulder on them. An ordinary bolt won’t do. I imagine they would be the same as 67, most likely the same for several years. I have a few of them that I could spare, if you can’t locate some nearby.
For purposes of comparison: My '71 charger SE originally N 383/727/8 3/4 is now MP 528 mega block gen 2 hemi/A833/9 3/4. I went to Dennys Driveshaft for a new shaft.
Measuring from the extension housing output shaft seal flange to the center of the rear yoke cap is 53.5" with the weight down on...
At this point I would drill it to the size needed to retap the hole. Drill it a little at a time until the tapered tip is loose and get it out of the hole. Thread the hole and get a replacement screw.
