440 question: might be a dumb question

Sorry, I can't pass this one up. Is it possible your mom was reading that to your dad as forplay, and you just overheard it? Were the readings followed by a visit from a bald guy who would spit on you? Kudos to you for absorbing the FSM knowledge with all of that happening!

Women that wears the 'holy' jeans and crappy looking shoes....I don't get it when....

I thought 6’ is where all obstacles are at! Small cars are a bitch to get in also. This world is not made for any one over 5’ 8”

    727 always leaking

727 leaks when sitting, shift shaft lever seal, and dip stick O-ring most common. A front seal seldom leaks when sitting. the pipe plug that hold the band lever can leak but pretty rare. Most common is a pump bolt loose, each bolt has a sealing washer on it and I have seen them back off...

Pull Engine Time: Hood On or Off?:

Because I work by myself, I leave the hoods on most of the time, I pull the carb and use a lift plate that attaches to the intake manifold, set the lift chain as short as possible. I then loosen the two front hood bolts and use a prop rod to hold the hood open as far as possible. Keeps you...

Since when does Edelbrock make a Holley carb?

I like them but I wish they would have spent $5 on a burnished finish so they wouldn't be so ugly. When you can sell a carburetor for nearly $1,000 you have the margins to make it pretty. And colored anodizing on the metering blocks would go a long way too. It's not fun to me to buy ugly parts...

So F#'n Tired of WINTER!!!! 2014

Effing cold here. Pussies like to quote windchill to make it seem worse then it is, but in reality it’s humidity that makes things bad. See our humidity, that’s very high for that temperature and makes it feel really bad. Generally at these temps humidity is around twenty percent and everyone...

    1969 Road Runner preservation

Very cool and rare GTX! I see that you are also working on a 62 Cadillac. I have been on the lookout for a Cadillac for many years and two years ago. I came across a 27,000 mile one Owner 60 coupe Deville. Except for one re-spray in the 80s. It is a unrestored time capsule. Good luck with your...

    What's it Worth 67 Satellite-Not Mine

Power brakes is an interesting option for 67. Hardly ever see that for some reason...but a Satellite or 500 would be the car to see them on.

    Would this shifter fit?

"Inland" was the supplier of 4-speed shifter mechanisms to Chrysler from 1966-early1968. Characterized by tubular shifter with T-handle to access Reverse. Black knob with shift pattern. They must have been cheaper than a Hurst, and did not work as well. I built a 1967 Coronet with a 4-speed, and...

Pull Engine Time: Hood On or Off?:

Ok, having done this operation with various cars, various times, over 55 years or so, the engine can be removed 3 ways: hood on, hood off, dropped from underside. I personally prefer dropping the subframe method. Each method has it's own particular advantages and disadvantages. One caveat, if...

    Rallye Hood

Even if they gripe about it, it's YOUR car. I think it would look cool. By the way, I love those rims!

    Would this shifter fit?

Inlands were carried over on early '68 models but not "common"... They look like this and bolt on.
