Post up facts and things that hardly anyone knows...... (for entertainment purposes only. NO need to fact check)

The first turbine powered passenger vessel was the 250 foot long TS King Edward, launched in 1901. Able to speed along at just over 20 knots (23.5 mph) the ship stayed in service for fifty years, eventually scrapped in 1952. It was found that the engine developed its maximum efficiency when...

I bolted mine in (back in 1980). It worked fine. I didn't have a welder back then.

Fitment question about ProCar seat mounting adapters for 1970 Charger

I put in the driver’s seat in today, and adapter didn’t need shimming but I will have to drill the holes near the trans hump since this was a bench seat car. I was not impressed with the fitment when bolting the sliders to the seats and then again not happy with how the bottom of the sliders...

    Drum Brakes Grabbing - SOLVED!

I think that’s the same issue I ran into, you can see at the end of this thread: Well this may be a stupid brake question: where to measure to determine if I have 10 or 11s? Short version is I used the the spring that looked closest to what should be there but longer from an extra spring kit...

The Daytona has a larger gap at the nose cone than the Superbird. Same gasket used differently.

When assembling a big block, how crucial is THIS ?

If it helps, this is the depth measurement of my original 383 cam plug. I knocked in the new one until it squared & bottomed out against the inner block shoulder. The after install measurement was the same.

Interesting story about To Live And Die In L.A.

Ok the movie was directed by a guy named William Friedkin many think he copied the style from Michael Mann's Miami Vice. They are VERY similar stylistically. Some think Mann sued Friedkin over it. What's weird TLADIL starred William Peterson who's other big crime movie was Manhunter. An...

Do you need a special timing set when switching to a roller cam in a big block?

Since I haven't done this before and haven't been around anyone that has, everything that is different compared to a flat tappet swap is foreign to me. I wondered how the cam end play was measured and it wasn't until I saw a video with a dial indicator mounted in the lifter valley that it made...
