I haven't had any experience with that combo. Whatever you do, make sure there is no rubbing or twist in the hose through all points of suspension travel and steering.
Any port that has vacuum on the carb AND on the intake manifold needs to be plugged or connected. If not it'll be sucking air and that's a vacuum leak which will make it run like crap. If you don't know where they go just plug them first.
Thanks! I'm rebuilding the carb right now (there are no cheapie replacement for the 2168 model online). The two ports you just mentioned were the other 2 I was trying to figure out the purpose of so that helps alot.
I guess I shouldn't say that I have no idea what a good Street Hemi block would cost. In the last 2 years I've seen 2 of those new Street Hemi short blocks that Gratiot Auto was selling for $795 in 1976. Those 2 were 1969 casting dates. They were around $25,000 each. And one of them was only 60...

Check out Cold Hose in Ocala Florida. Just had them redo one of the metal lines on my Cuda. The don't make new metal lines, but can repair and reconfigure your existing line(s). Nice work, and good communication. They're not "quick" but worth the time IMO.
