Yeah, I'm looking for intake and carb on the cheap. Like I said, I'm gonna hit the junk yard LKQ has a u-pull-it location about 5 miles from me, so I'm hoping I can find some usable stuff. At some point in the not to distant future I want to throw headers and exhaust at her.
Long term goals...
Actually two questions...
Will any 340-360 small block drop into my 72 Satellite? Or do I have a range of years to choose from?
Same question for 318 intake manifolds. I want to drop a 4bbl on mine, and I'm hoping to find something usable in the junk yard. Do I need to stay in a range of...
The neutral safety switch went out on it, so I'll be back up under there sooner rather than later. I probably have 60 or so miles on it since the change. Seems like I'm "supposed" to flush it now!!
Thanks everybody. I took care of this on on Wednesday. Convertor did have a drain plug. Drained the whole mess out, looked like a pink milk shake. Flushed the radiator and block with water, new t-stat, new trans cooler.
Drained the trans and convertor, and left it open for a good hour to...
That did the trick!! I got her home. Really glad the breakdown was only a quarter mile from home. I didn't mention before I also have a flat tire. Being so close and on steel wheels I just did the death walk.
I do have to ask the stupid question though. I'm struggling to understand what it...
I had to leave my 72 Satellite (318/auto) on the side of the road for the night. Car was running fine, but I was having trouble getting it to turn over throughout the day. I cycled the trans and it would fire. On my way home, it stalled (bad fuel filter?). I had to cycle the trans again to...
Will this take care of the torque convertor too?
If the above suggestion will not work by itself, what do I need to do in order to drain the convertor? Pull it? Hopefully I can use the above suggestion to flush the transmission system.
Same question for the block. The radiator should drain...
Hey all. It seems my transmission is leaking into my radiator and vice versa. I do not have a separate trans cooler, only the radiator. I have to assume, naturally, there is a split in the trans line(s) inside the radiator. Can I get away with just plugging the in/out for the transmission...
Glad to be here, and thanks for the welcome. I've had the car for 4 days and have not been able to touch it yet. First plans are to get it road worthy as it will be a driver project. Want to go through the brakes (bleed and replace as necessary) and tranny. When I backed it into the driveway...
