Crawled under the car and saw the following:
Casting 25364305 and above that what looked like 1D followed by 3 66
The small arrow points to N which I assume means night shift
There is a clock or what looks like a clock symbol and it looks like the arrow is at 3.
This may make sense since the...
Got paperwork from Chrysler Historical Services.
The 9-19 build date is from 1966. The radiator support also states 919 followed by the numbers on the fender tag.
The engine block is marked with a "C" which indicates 1967 and is numbered 3 21 which means a March 21st build date. It is also...
Got the puller and removed the steering wheel; real easy. Replaced the turn signal switch. The trick is that you have to tape up the leads on the new turn signal switch in a flat row like the original one was. This will permit the wiring to be fished down the wiring channel. The next trick was...
My 67 GTX was running hot and I was getting overflow from the radiator cap.
I saw the radiator was pretty well clogged up so I removed it and sent it out to be reconditioned by a reputable shop. I changed the t-stat, hoses, radiator cap and re-installed the radiator w/new coolant.
The car now...
Thanks Ron and Clemul. This steering column is a little more complex than I thought. I'll check for power at the connector and hope that the problem's there. If not where the heck can I find an antique steering wheel removal tool? Thanks!
Any special tips on how to do this; can I just use a rubber mallet to get the steering wheel off the steering column after I remove the cover and nut or do I need a steering wheel puller?
Did you replace the cam along with the switch?
Thanks!
Fussed around with the flasher circuit and actually tried the new flasher I bought for the turn signals in the flasher circuit; then cleaned up the contacts on the miniature lamps for the turn signals in the dash and the flashers work. All the other lights work, but I am still out of luck on the...
Yes, everything else seems OK.
The turn signal flasher is only hot with the ignition key on.
The flashers don't work but I do get the right side turn signal indicator on the dashboard to light.
Thanks, I appreciate any and all help.
The turn signals on my '67 GTX don't work at all, can't even get the signals on the dash to work. Car was this way when I got it. Is there a basic troubleshooting route or should I try replacing the switch in the steering column. I've already replaced the turn signal flasher but no help; both...
Just took delivery of a 67 GTX. Have the Certicard, so I removed the back seat looking for the build sheet but no luck.
I did find two small metal tags that were hooked around the springs of the lower back seat portion however. The seats are original and have not been recovered.
Anyway, there...
Thanks to everyone for all the feedback.
I'm going to check the stampings on the block and intake manifold and see that they precede the build date of 9-19.
That should verify if the motor is original as the seller claims.
I'll also check the radiator support to see that it matches the 9-19...
Will be taking delivery of a 1967 GTX. Has build date of 9-19; question is the build date 9-19-66 making it a very early '67 or 9-19-67 making it a late 1967?
The engine is marked with a "C" so that indicates a 1967? When were 1967 GTX models first produced?
Thanks for any replies!
