Slant 6-- New Carburetor and loss of power

Hey guys, the check ball that I added to the rebuilt carb's jet pump had been causing the problem (I removed it). I also noticed that the old carb actually had a place for the check ball to rest in the bottom. The new one allowed the ball to roll into the hole with little resistance. Anyway...

Slant 6-- New Carburetor and loss of power

I'll look in to it. Although, it took an act of God for carquest to get there hands on one for me. Slant 6-- New Carburetor and loss of power

Well... I replaced all the rubber fuel hoses and installed a brand new fuel pump. There is still the same problem. Despite the fact that I fooled with the carburetor to the point of it spraying fuel out of the accelerator pump linkage. :( I had the car idling for a bit (before I messed up...

Slant 6-- New Carburetor and loss of power

I'll begin by adjusting the float to allow for a higher fuel level in the bowl. I still won't discount the possibly clogged fuel sock in the tank.

    1962 torqueflite kickdown seal

Hello Doug, I would really appreciate it. It is "533 Lee Rd 57 lot 137 Auburn, Alabama 36832". I'm not sure how long it would take to get here. I imagine something that small could travel by normal mail. Lets hope I don't screw it up. That particular seal is hard to find.

1962 Slant 6 will not start.

Thanks for advice guys. I finally got the car to start. I had put the timing gears to where their marks were closest together and facing each other (according to Chilton manual). The chain was pretty old and had some slack but, I don't believe it slipped (no money to replace). After aligning...

1962 Slant 6 will not start.

Yes, but it is yellow. At first, with the original ignition switch, the car would start and stay running only with the starter engaged. I have used a few old ballasts I have laying around. They might all be bad but, what are the chances? Now the car won't even pop or fire with starting fluid...
