I had a thread on this a month or two ago. The orange wire that goes into the back of the fuse box had rubbed against another terminal until it was bare, witch fed it power whenever the battery was hooked up. I would check there first .
I found the problem! The orange wire going into the back of the fuse box had rubbed against another hot terminal. It was hard to see until I unhooked it from it's terminal. It had bared the wire and was being fed voltage where it was touching the other terminal.
I hope this helps someone else...
The dash lights on my 70 satellite will not go out . I pulled the fuse, removed the headlight switch and the rotary dash light dimmer switch. They are still on! Any suggestions?

When I bought it a few years ago, it only had 67K miles! Had a 318 in it. Added torq thrust wheels.
Now has 5.7 Hemi bored and stroked to 395 c.i.d. Mild comp cam. Hooker headers. Machine work done by hubby: Sam's Speed Shop. Sullivan, IN.
