I’m looking at machining a custom emblem and molding it into a 65 coronet trunk medallion. I bought the last repop set from classic and it cracked just sitting in my garage. Picture below of my medallion,
It’s only a little over a year old. Does anyone know what in the world the medallions are...
Thanks! I did the butt connector, solder, heat shrink
Method. I was just unsure if a standard uninsulated connector would have been ok.
Now to cross my fingers and see if I get spark where I need it and no spark where I don’t!
I rewired under the hood of my 65 dodge completely,
Following the information in this thread. I am at a crossroads now with the 12ga fusible link and how to connect it to the 8ga wire. Is it ok use a standard uninsulated seemless butt connector to crimp together or do I need a crimp sleeve? I’m...
Ripleys total car care on Rayford (just east of I45) is the only shop in town who will provide you true mandrel bent exhaust. See if they can provide you what you need. You can also buy the 180deg mandrel bent tubes from summit and section them to the angles you need.
My 12ga fusible link came in a 4ft roll, how long should I cut the link to? I saw someone on our sister site (A Bodies) mentioned 6” long but this is way too important for the survival of my car to guess.
Is this 50 amp circuit breaker a good example of what to use when adding accessories like headlight relays, amplifier, msd, or vintage air? My car is always showing a 25% charge and after watching this video I’m 100% sure it’s because I have addons on the battery side of the ammeter.
My...
I have a powermaster 90 amp alternator, it powers my vintage air, msd, and 500w 4 channel amp no sweat. I didn’t choose powermaster on purpose, it was just the one available at the time.
I installed the same rockers on my engine a few weeks ago and they were tight just like yours. I called Mancini and they instructed me to “grind a little bit off the spacers until the rockers all move freely when tightened down”. I used a belt sander and took .010” off of all of them and...
a finely tuned sound system doesn’t effect the people outside of the car. With my windows rolled up and the stereo turned up about halfway you can’t even hear the music outside the car. You open the door and all of a sudden the music is in your face. Children run 1,000 watts of bass with the...
A couple 10” subs tucked away in a formed box will really round out the sound. It’s nice when you hear the bass drum thump like in person or hear the actual bass in the bass guitar. I have one lousy old Rockford phosgate 10” in my 65 and it really makes Roger waters bass lines come alive.
All the channels except sports will run you About $95. All in, annually.
The premium service is about $125. All in and you get every single channel they offer.
All of the packages come with mobile/online streaming free. I listen to it everyday, mainly classic rock and hard rock/metal. For...
I installed vintage air in my 65 Coronet this past year, 383, 9 to 1 with a comp xe284h.
I went with an ECP 22” radiator, 18” 6 blade fan, 180 T stat, A-body fan shroud (classic industries ma2228), and a fan spacer from jegs. The car stays around 190 at idle (in traffic) with the a/c on...
Maybe any shock between 65-76 will fit. Thanks Pnora! I’ll try those Monroe’s and if they don’t feel good I’ll try my luck and see if a later B bilstein fits.
Haha I haven’t had a set of air shocks since the 90’s. I might go with the blue Monroe’s but I was hoping someone might tell me the later b body shocks fit so I had more options.
What choices do we have for shocks? I called Bilstein and kyb, they didn’t have much for a pre 66. Kyb has the grey gas a justs but I’m looking for a smooth ride with some tightness in steering, nothing like a qa1 suspension. What do you guys use for your “one or two steps above stock” shocks?
