65 Coronet 440 sedan gas tank capacity

Did the early B’s have a 20 gallon tank option? I just did the por 15 treatment to my tank and replaced the fuel sending unit. When everything was back together I put 5 gallons of gas in the tank at home then another 14.9 at the gas station. Everywhere I look all I see are 15gallon tanks for sale, am I missing something?

the 15 gallon thing is imperial gallons. tank should be 19 u.s. gallons.

19 gallons makes a lot more sense. Thank you for the clarification. I don’t have an owners manual.

i haven't messed with this in quite a few years but i had the same questions too. at the time i bought a tank i believe the tanks were made in canada and canada used the imperial gallon measurement.
