The original factory tips on my 73 (April) were long with red inserts. I replaced them with the long red SS Pypes because the chrome was pitted and flaking. You really can't go with what a lot of the restoration stores say is correct for your car, Year One says my horn should be black, but it's...
Agree, but his claim is that it is an early build Windsor car and it may be different. Like I said, I've never seen or heard of this, but the one thing I've learned about mopar is never say never.

Had a "spirited discussion" the other day about the location of the trunk emblem and decal on the 73 runner. He claims his is original, and is on the drivers side, first the decal then the emblem in line, and the emblem has studs. Now I've never heard of a 73 with the emblems on the left, and...
To be perfectly honest, I just run Standard Ignition wires. I'll probably get crushed for this but unless you're having misfire problems, high performance wires and coils DO NOT add power. You cannot make more power by super igniting the mixture, it either ignites, or you have misfires. This...
The problem you're having is due to the motor mount change in 73, all the repo dip sticks are for 72 down. The spool mounts need some different bends in order to fit right, and to my knowledge nobody is reproducing them.
The only solution I could find was to get a stick and tube for a big block...
Per the Mopar Performance Engines book,
pg 368, 426 Hemi (cylinder heads), Basic Cylinder Head Preparation
"Check the cylinder head oiling hole. Be sure that it is open and that the drill didn't break off and remain in the hole. Check the block for a similar hole, both sides. The camshaft...
Guessing this was a 318 car, since you wouldn't get a 8 1/4 with a 400. That said, atleast 3.54 gears and a higher stall TC would do wonders, But that small ujoint 8.25 aint gonna last long if it hooks up!
Of course the easiest way would be with a windshield washer pump, a gallon of bleach, and...
First step would be to confirm your compression, next would be to check your cam numbers. If the compression is what you say, the first thing that comes to mind from what you describe is ignition. What you have to understand is what octane is, which is resistance to ignite. This is how we are...
The "quick and easy" solution is what some of these one or two time posters are looking for. When they are told they must, as I call, do the dance; ie get out the multi meter, do some diagnostics, or give more specifics, they get frustrated and move along. Our younger members possibly didn't...
Couple of things that I see here. First, don't know why you would connect radio to the ammeter because that receives full power from the battery and is always hot, much better to go to a battery accessory fuse.
Second, what you seem to be calling the voltage regulator is the starter relay, what...
Not sure if this is still the case, but if you race the car NHRA also wanted a kill switch near the back bumper in case of a wreck. In any case you want to have the relay wired to an ignition accessory on the fuse block.

My comment was related to the OP, who said he was looking to do the scales in walnut. Everything I've seen on the interweb is plastic, not real wood. A nicly done set in black walnut would look alot nicer than the plastic wood grains.
