If the sand core slumped during casting the block you would wind up with a thin area... But it had to seal when it was running, perhaps the cooling system rusted in the critical area which a slump would cause a porous area in the casting prone to rusting.... It's quite possible... But so is the...
Yeah, it certainly looks like the block... A quick pressure test will confirm it... On one side I say have fun in Mexico... On the other side I would want to spent the fifteen minutes to know what the final cause of the problem is before leaving....
And yeah, Doug's suggestion would work...
First I would pull the heads, block the oil passage on the head gasket surface & put a rubber blow gun tip in the rocker bolt hole & see if the heads hold pressure...
next turn the engine so the cam blocks the oil passages to the heads & pressurize the passage from the deck down toward the...
You need to show us a video showing your whole setup... How are you pessurizing the cooling system? You have no intake, are the four water ports blocked?
If you had no air bubbles what makes you believe you had air up top? You mentioned having the cam blocking air to the top.... The oil pump is what's referred to as a "positive displacement pump" which means if it's turning it will displace oil... But if it's not turning it acts as a blockage...
So, when you removed the pick up tube and attempted to pressurize the oil galleys the oil pump blocked the air... As was stated previously pressurize through the sending unit port...
It goes in the suction port of the A/C compressor... It controls the evaporator pressure.... The Expansion valve controls how much freon goes in, the EPR controls how much flows out...

I've never setup a set of Motive gears.. I've done plenty of Richmond/Yukon/US Gear/Strange...
I'm a big fan of US Gear & Strange (Which was re-boxed US Gear)
Not so much Richmond/Yukon...
I've set up probably 25-30 sets of US Gear... Never had one that was noisy including the 4:30's I just...
If you were closer I'd hook you up with some 3:55's .. I just pulled the 4:30's out of my red Challenger... But the O/D made them very street friendly...
But yeah, steering & brakes are a bigger must have than sensible gearing..
Yeah the days of beat it like you stole it haven't completely gone away, but I want to know it'll turn & stop before I start the fun stuff....
If I were you, I'd get the pedal effort down cause that makes you feel more confident when driving... Get some miles on the car & re=evaluate...
