i recently purchased two covers to fit a 20 Challenger. 1) Ezyshade - about $70 - great for reflecting sunlight and keeping the car not so hot in direct sunlight. I have had a small amount of moisture under some of the seams after heavy rains. Fits a little bit tight, could use another inch...

Different results with removing the bulbs
Each pin only has continuity for its respective light except for-
temp gauge
ground (gauge feed on the wiring diagram)
gas gauge
Temp gauge, ground and Gas gauge have continuity with everything
removing the voltage reg -
gas...
1969 coronet convertible 318 auto / standard original dash. I have removed the instrument cluster. When checking continuity on the circuit board, I get a continuity reading on any pin when checked at any light bulb connection or at the fuel gauge or temp gauge. Readings at the pin to gauges...
A pink hot wire runs to the emergency flasher from the fuse box.
From the flasher, a wire runs to the flasher switch (currently removed) and to the brake switch.
When the brake is applied, the circuit at the brake switch is complete.
Current then runs from the brake switch via white wire to the...
i want to reopen this thread as I have the switch panel out and Devin is rebuilding my dimmer switch.
Due to other issues, I have replaced the voltage regulator, battery, alternator, and battery cables over the last couple of months.
All lights work - the issue remains that all turn signals...
yes the fuse tests ok
i cant get any ohms reading between any of the 3 terminals. I think i did the voltage bench test with the dimmer connected in the car and got zero volts on the output terminals (grounded)
I dont see anything broken in the dimmer but looks like i have to find the rebuilder...
1969 coronet 500 convertible, standard dash. No dash lights. Pulled the switch panel plate out (that's another story) and have the dimmer switch out. Is there a bench test to determine if the dimmer switch is operative ? I've got full voltage at the top terminal connecter (14.5 v, that is...
what is the correct installation depth of the rear bearing on a roundback alternator ? Should it sit flush to the rear case ?
Pic 1 is current alternator where bearing sticks out about 3/32 from rear case
Pic 2 shows inside of rear case where bearing is flush to inner case
Pic 3 is previous...
Is it OK to helicoil a stripped pulley hole on the harmonic balancer or is there too much rotation and stress on the pulley ? Stock 1969 3018 that doesn't see high rpm's.
I had the same issue with stumbling at highways speeds. The car eventually died and would not start. After a tow home, I checked the fuel pump and the two attaching bolts had become loose enough so the pump rod was not engaging.
the park light issue was fixed easily - the fuse was blown. With the park lights on, the dash turn signals are not illuminated.
I could not replicate the fuel gage issue. Maybe pushing & pulling on all the connectors fixed that.
At the brake switch at the pedal, is the white wire connection...
With headlights on - symptoms are the same, as depressing the brake pedal illuminates all of the turn signal lights
NEW ISSUE discovered - I held the brake pedal down steady for 5-10 seconds. All turn signals illuminate and the ones in the dash seem to pulse. Stranger, the gas gauge goes...
update - installed a new hazard flasher tonight. Hazard flasher works fine and all lights flash. However, the turn signal lights still illuminate when the brake is depressed
thanks for the replies - I will try to get back to troubleshooting tonight or tomorrow as home repairs are taking priority right now. Regarding all the turn signal bulbs light up when the brakes are applied - the rear, the dash, the front (yellows in the bumper) and the fender mounted . If I...
When the brakes are applied, the brake light bulbs and all turn signal bulbs light up. When the brakes are applied and the turn signal is activated, the brake bulbs light up, all the turn signal bulbs light up, and the selected left or right turn signal bulbs flash. When the flashers are...
The latch/housing seems to be readily available in the resto market, averaging around $125 / pair. I am trying to keep my car original as possible so trying to reuse what I got if it is in good condition. Has anyone disassembled a retro latch ? Are they using the same type of knurled pin ...
