I purchased under hood insulation for my 69 bee from year one. It has a black side and an insulation side(grey swirl). Which side points towards engine?

yes, stock manifolds. Currently has 90's on the plugs and 90's on the distributor and seems to work well but i can be convinced otherwise. It seems to me the 90's on the plugs would work better than straight. Most I see that say "correct fit" have straight boots for the plugs.
