So I discovered all the under dash wiring and switches for the cruise control unit seem to still to be present, so good news.
My question now is why the cruise control unit that came with the car only has provision for one vacuum line when the diagram shows two lines and the brake cutoff switch...
The car is a ‘69 Charger with factory air which I’m trying to get going again. The car came to me with the AC equipment in the trunk.
I had the compressor rebuilt to run R 134 refrigerant. I had the evaporator rebuilt at classic air and a new condensor.
Any more details on the thermostatic...
So I’m in Deep on my dash project! Goal is new wiring harness, gauges and AC box. Plus a new brake booster while I’m at it.
Quick question, is this valve required somewhere? I didn’t find one in the original system. If so, where is it located? I bought a NOS piece but have no idea if it’s...
I’ve started a big dash rebuilding project and want to install a newly rebuilt instrument panel, radio, new wiring harness and the new heater box.
I’ve changed these once before but not on a 69 Charger.
My forum question, is it possible to get the heater box out without removing the dash? I’m...
So the car died and coasted to a stop last weekend. The water pump belt broke around the same time but might have broke a few minutes before it stopped. I replaced the distributor today and it cranks fine and has 6V to the coil. The distributor rotor was rubbing the pickup. I’ll replace the coil...
So I was out driving my 69 Charger and the car died at ~55mph. The cars brakes became rock hard and getting it stopped took a huge force on the brakes. I had noticed previously the pedal was rock hard when the car wasn’t running.
The brakes work fine when the car is running. The master and...
Classic Industries seems to be out of stock, anyone know of an alternate source? I was hoping not to have to switch to a universal kit.
thanks in advance
So I’m painting a 69 Charger in silver metallic base. I plan to follow up with a House of Kolor Kandy. First complete car I’ve tried painting. The car is dis-assembled and on a cart for painting. I didn’t really appreciate how hard silver is to paint.
Everything on the car has an epoxy primer...
I really like what you did with the hoses. How did you go about the adapter to go from the flanged rv2 connectors to modern hose connectors?
I just got my compressor back on the car withh all the pulleys. Now alls I have to do is sort out the hoses.
The evaporated and condenser are getting...
Wow is about all you can say.
It would be good to see more shots of the body especially the extra welding done. Floors, trunk, etc. Have any panels been replaced or is it needing metal work?
I would add photos of the numbers behind the Radiator support and the trunk lip since their isn’t a VIN...
Got to the oil pan rail numbers today:
Confirmed the bore is 4.30 so it must have 50thou. wear and never bored. The stroke is 3.71”. I’ll drop the pan next and will add those photos.
The stamp by the distributor says 7T 440 EHP.
Any idea what the bore size should be? I checked against the 69 Service Manual.
All very interesting info. Fun learning about the motor.
The heads seem to have the correct part number for a ‘77
So I have this old motor that came in a barn find 1969 Charger And it was a long way from running.
Digging in to it this weekend and found the tappets were ground way down. I assume the cam is also gone.
I’m mainly trying to decide if the block is junk or not. I would also like to find a...
