The counter shaft is shorter on the 833od. It's not a press fit and therefore requires a plug to keep the lube in. The case isn't bushed for the counter shaft either. Sheel shaft in an oversized aluminum hole.
Your pictures aren't great. Bendix rotor should be two piece and the left side should have left hand treaded studs. Those appear one piece. Year one sells one piece with right hand studs. Given the expense of Bendix stuff and the fact that everything is painted blue , someone may have converted...
This is an easy swap. Put the front bearing retainer in a lathe and turn it down to 4.80.
First gear is 3.09 and second is 1.67. Some don't like the rpm drop from first to second. Vs 2.65 to 1.92 of say a 68 trans.
My old V6 Dakota had an ax15 with 3.83 first and 2.33 second. Drove just fine...
A butyl type sealant was used originally and is probably easiest for you to use and install for your first time. It will also give you a even height for your trim. Definitely use a helper. Dry set the glass and put a piece of tape on the body and glass to help center it for the final set. Best...
The small retainer has a smaller bolt circle. My 4 speeds are somewhat buried and it's 3 degrees out. But from what I could measure the early 70s sb had a 3 5/8 circle and the 69 bb 4 1/8 circle and the 70 np445 4 1/4. I think you will probably find that you either need to bore your bell, find...
The od bearing retainer can be cut to fit the 4.80. That's what I did with no problem. I think at 4.35 you either cut into the retainer bolt circle or maybe there isn't room for the bolt head, not completely sure on this
Prices on 2nd gens are nuts. If it looks solid , the workmanship looks good and it's within your budget. Maybe just do a better rattle can flat black job and enjoy it. Paint is expensive and it's going the get look because it's a 2nd gen charger.
I used the spindles and pin calipers from a 73 on mine, mounted to the rear. Modified the steel brake line so the rubber hose would cross th axis of steering properly. Used the large pin bracket and rotor from a 76? Car for the 11.75 rotor.
You should have ignition 1 and 2. One supplies power when the key is turned to start. The other supplies power when the key is in run. You will need your distributor wired so it gets power in both positions.
You will also need the distributor installed correctly.
Was the car running before...
A more detailed description of your problems would be good. The two hoses from the firewall, connect to the water pump and the front of the intake. Someone has used a short piece off hose to to make this connection, bypassing your heater core inside the car. Maybe it leaks.
Were they still...
