I haven't done much since my last post. I welded up the heater hose holes on the water pump and put together a new mild steel hotside since I didn't like how the old setup looked, the welds aren't my best but I didn't have much tig experience at that point.
I also bought a 3D Printer recently so...
Just had to cut a few inches out of the k member, other than that it fits right in. Depending on your exhaust manifold/header choice, you might have some clearance issues with the steering box
First update in over a year and a half! The charger turned into a shelf for quite a while unfortunately, after I melted some holes in a couple pistons lol. I finally got back on it around a month ago and built a new gen 4 aluminum block 5.3 for it. Just a pretty basic engine with flat top...
Broke the driveshaft a couple days ago and put a massive dent in the floor. Oh well, I guess it just gives me an excuse to tear the car down and start doing racecar stuff lol
Nope didn’t adjust them. It was basically riding on the bump stops with the 440, and it just happened to be at the perfect height after the swap lol
I haven’t done anything with suspension yet but even now without sway bars or any other upgrades on it’s amazingly stable and flat in corners. The...
Havent done too much lately, I’ve been busy moving houses. Just put a new VS racing 78/75 on and did some tuning. This thing really moves now lol. And I took it out today to play in the snow
Ive got 600 bucks into the turbo and everything that goes along with it, I’d say that’s pretty damn cheap. You can think what you’d like but I bought the car with money I made by getting lucky and flipping a couple other chargers, a 1968 and a 1970.
Thanks! The plan for right now is the usual hotchkis upgrades and better wheels/tires until I get a big enough space to tear it all apart and build something new. I’m thinking along the lines of C5 corvette based suspension but still pretty undecided
Took the charger out for the first time with the turbo. Unfortunately it blew the oil cap off and sprayed oil EVERYWHERE lol. Other than that it ran pretty good, still needs lots of tuning though
When was the last time you saw an LS in a 69 charger though? Bet this is the first one. The car it’s in is the reason it’s unique. But since you’ve brought it up, “lack of knowledge” isn’t any reason for not building a BBM, cost is. Why would I choose to spend $5k+ to make 800hp when I could...
Top fuel cars ARE boring. Purely because they’re basically all the same, there’s no uniqueness to them. Same goes for big block powered mopars. IMO once you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. That’s why I like my car so much, it’s something unique that no one else will ever have
Hey everyone, I already started a build thread here:
https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/ls-swapped-69-charger.205147/
But figured I'd post an intro here as well. I've been working on cars since 12 (18 now) and got my first 1970 charger at 16. Sold that car for profit and was...
