I will be there as a spectator with at least one of my two sons who were handed down a 67 Belvedere II convertible last year.

They did a great job and were happy to keep it in the family.

Unfortunately, my Father-in-Law has dementia and is no longer aware of what is happening but my Mother-in-Law is ecstatic that it has been passed down. The last time it was driven consistently was my wife's senior year of high school, 30+ years ago.

Thanks oldbee and dryheat. That is what we have been thinking. Our 3/4 box has a bent end so we couldn't get a sold hold and resorted to the open end. Went to three locations last night and none had the straight shaft. We'll get one and put it to work!

Thanks pnora. We have the bolt and nut turning together when the bolt is not restricted. Our issue is how to best hold the nut given the tight location.
