I would think so,he says do it in the car. When I get to mine,I’ll see how much room there is to plug the hole, maybe some grease to catch chips. I have some shop vac hose adapters that go down to the size around a large straw. We’ll see.
I spoke with Bergman today. He said they started porting the inlet and outlet before they shipped them for this reason. The hose seats and the holes in the casting don’t quite line up,he said it can be fixed in the car. Take the hoses off and dry things out then look through the holes, should see...
The ridge looks minimal. Some ring wear in the cylinder where the ring stops and
the piston changes direction is normal. That looks like the oil rails rocking,I'd want to check the ring side clearances.
I have a plastic 1” 4 hole on my DP4B for the heat. 4 holes to keep the signal stronger at low rpm’s. Check the holes in your spacer/insulator of choice,
I had to hone a slight bevel in the top of the holes in mine for clearance.
I had one in my hands and on my car,and it may go back on. The primaries are smaller than the secondaries by a small amount, but still a square. Spread bores are a small primary with a very large secondary necessitating the need to widen the rear of the throttle plate and manifold.
Might not want the same jets in both sides of the carbs. I’ve seen those fuel pumps put out 10 lbs. Don’t overlook crankcase ventilation, one pcv valve doesn’t fit,er,work on all.
I have that carb on a DP4B with a !" 4 hole plastic spacer, not over cammed 383. I had to slightly hone the bores of the spacer for throttle plate clearance. It's not as too big a carb for your engine as some will have you believe. On mine the floats were off outof the box,I borrowed a 650 AVS2...
Agree with fmj. One year only piece, someone will need it. Did you get the cables? I got mine in pieces, service manual and half a case of beer and I had it working. Drove it for a year before the engine and trans swap. Sold the column with the trans.
I have 255 60s on it now,can't leave a light hard.
1/2 throttle it spins part way through 2nd gear.
