Can I time/tune an engine by ear? Can’t seem to see any lines on the harmonic balancer when using my timing gun on both the top or underneath the car.

Hey all so I’m having a heck of time trying to tune this built 360 that’s new to me. Every other vehicle I’ve timed with this timing gun had the original motor in the car and was super simple. I’d point my innova 3568 timing gun at the harmonic balancer, see the line and then adjust the...

Noticing some smoke coming from valve cover breather on 67 Satellite with a 360 engine. Am I missing something obvious?

Appreciate the help! (And all the other answers). If I just timed the engine and tuned the carb would hooking up a PCV valve require me to retune anything?

Noticing some smoke coming from valve cover breather on 67 Satellite with a 360 engine. Am I missing something obvious?

So the car is new to me and the supposedly the engine was rebuilt recently with less than a few hundred miles on it. After driving it and popping the hood I notice that there is smoke coming from both breathers on both valve covers with a little bit of oil getting into the valve covers too. I...

Properly timing my 1967 Satellite with a rebuilt 360. Any tips on what initial and all in timing should be?

So from what I read on previous posts most small blocks run well around 12-14 initial 34-36 all in. I haven’t checked the timing yet but it’s running a little rough. Idling at 1100rpm, stalling out when put in reverse and stalling at stop lights. So there might be some carb tuning that needs to...

Just put a new gas tank in my 67 Satellite and can’t get fuel through the line to the carb. Any tips?

Just wanted to update and let anyone that finds the thread know it was the pump. Lots of good tips here if it wasn’t. Can’t believe the coincidence of the pump failing but maybe it ran dry for a second and was damaged or just really at the end of its life.

Just put a new gas tank in my 67 Satellite and can’t get fuel through the line to the carb. Any tips?

Thanks I found one on Amazon for $100. So we’ll see. Any idea why they come with two gaskets? In case I destroy one? https://a.co/d/eEdzFo3

Just put a new gas tank in my 67 Satellite and can’t get fuel through the line to the carb. Any tips?

I think it might be the fuel pump all. For the life of me I can’t find a replacement to the below Carter online anywhere. Do those numbers mean anything to anyone? I bought a cheap replacement just to see and it seems to suck fuel but isn’t fitting flush. The engine is a 360. 69029K04A

Just put a new gas tank in my 67 Satellite and can’t get fuel through the line to the carb. Any tips?

Managed to puncture my old gas tank so I replaced it today. The fuel line was fairly new and so is the pump. Got all new gaskets and seals but reused fuel sending unit. The fuel gauge works fine still but I can’t get gas to the carb. I tried pouring some gas in the carb as I have someone turn...

Installing GTX hood scoops on my 67 Satellite. Do these holes in the hood lineup with the hood scoops from the factory or are they not correlated?

Thanks I’ve been looking and found some. I just figured that if those holes are for the scoops I could just drill through the underside to the top. Unless I still should measure it out or if drill from the underside causes more damage.

Installing GTX hood scoops on my 67 Satellite. Do these holes in the hood lineup with the hood scoops from the factory or are they not correlated?

So I bought these hood scoops from vans auto and noticed my Satellite hood has a few holes in it that look like they line up with the hood scoops. Just wondering if that’s actually the case before I drill through or if it’s just a coincidence. I did see a black GTX recently (photo below) and it...

Are there universal chrome center caps I’d be able to use to dress up my wheels? Are there possible ones that might cover the lugs too?

It’s a 67 Satellite. 15” Rims. I have to be honest I’m not sure about lug spacing or offset or how much that matters. I would like to dress up the wheel a bit and I’ve seen tons of caps online but I just have no idea how they fit or go on….This is my attempt at at to dress the rims up a bit...

How to remove this backseat in my 67 Satellite

Alright guys I thought this would be easier but for some reason I can figure out how the back seat is removed. I thought it would just pop out (I don’t see any bolts in rear from the trunk locking it in). I just don’t want to break it. Is it just really stuck? I could’ve sworn it just pops right...

Is it possible to bring these rims back to life or are they too far gone?

These are on my 67’ Satellite. I’ve been looking for a nice set of cragers but until then I’d like to see if I could get these to shine up a bit. I haven’t had much luck with my usual mother’s mag and aluminum polish. Just wondering if I’m wasting my time.

I was transporting my 67 Satellite and managed to puncture the newer steel gas tank. Can I repair or need to replace?

I should’ve asked earlier but is there any reason I can’t use my old vent line with the new tank? Or do I need to order a new large and small?

I was transporting my 67 Satellite and managed to puncture the newer steel gas tank. Can I repair or need to replace?

Thanks! If my current seals are like new on my regular satellite gas cap any reason I can’t just reuse those and bolt the flip cap on? Or is it not really a bolt on when it comes to using the same seals that are already there?

I was transporting my 67 Satellite and managed to puncture the newer steel gas tank. Can I repair or need to replace?

Any idea how much of pain it’ll be to try and upgrade my standard satellite gas cap to the flip cap on the GTX models? I found one on vans auto (below) but can’t tell if it comes with the necessary seals. Also have no idea how it gets installed. I assume I’ll need to make a few new holes in the...

I was transporting my 67 Satellite and managed to puncture the newer steel gas tank. Can I repair or need to replace?

Got it! Thanks. I was hoping maybe the new tank came with one. The tank that’s damaged is pretty clean but who knows until I get it out. I was thinking of having new straps on hand too and maybe a fuel sending unit just in case. Weird that I can buy a grommet on Rockauto with the tank

I was transporting my 67 Satellite and managed to puncture the newer steel gas tank. Can I repair or need to replace?

Thanks all! I went ahead and ordered one. $170 shipped from spectra. It was the comment about having to check it on one knee constantly that did me in because I just knew that was going to be me all the time. I haven’t dropped a gas tank in a while and never on my 67 satellite (previous owner...

I was transporting my 67 Satellite and managed to puncture the newer steel gas tank. Can I repair or need to replace?

Any idea where Evan Fischer is made? I’ve at least heard the name but don’t know much about them. In fairness I’m not familiar with many gas tank manufacturers.
